Oh, as a side note, I didn't actually become atheist, but until I was told the tests came back and she had had cancer and being hit on the road had been a far less painful way to die, I slowly started listening to my religious friends again.

Stephanie passed away the winter before I graduated high school. My friends tried to tell me that God prolly took her so she wouldn't be hurt when I went off to college the next fall. I told them I didn't want anything to do with a God that took my baby from me and I had planned on going to a community school so I wouldn't be leaving her behind. She wouldn't have understood why I left otherwise. Either I was very immature, or there's not as much difference between 11 and 18 as people seem to think.

I loved how you captured the feel of the dog show and how nervous Sev was, poor kid. I also love how you make the bond between Gabe and Sev so very strong and meaningful. What a lovely story!

It's very clear that the one boy was trying to psych Severus out, because he knew that Gabriel was the superior dog. I'm glad that Lily and Eileen were able to keep Severus from getting himself disqualified because of that little pissant.

I'm glad that Dumbledore was amenable to Severus bringing Gabe to school with him. It would have broken Severus' heart to be separated from his familiar.

    Author's Response:

You are right and he certainly needed them, otherwise he might not have gotten to compete.  Oh yes it would have.  So now everyone's happy.

    And the next chappie's up!

"You always let girls do your talking for you?"
"If they're right." I said coldly.-This made me laugh so hard I nearly choaked on my drink! I'm not sure why, but I just love this line! It sounds like something someone in my family might say, I guess. It was just so funny!

"Snot-Brat went first, his real name was Gene Tolliver. God, he even sounded like a toff!" - This also made me chuckle. Good ol' Snape snark! HAHA! But seriously, that kid was a snot. Didn't like him in the least.

But I'm so happy that Sev won! And it was so cute with Lily sticking up for him...then getting in trouble...haha! My mom always said I should've been a boy too. Lily sounds like my kinda friend!

I think Severus's loyalty to Gabe is wonderful! Those two just make me grin all over the place! I can't wait to see what happens with Gabe and Fang! Oh my that should be fun! I'm sure Sev's going to have to learn to get on with Hagrid then! XD Wonderful update!! :D

    Author's Response:

I'm glad you share my sense of humor. i thought it was funny too.

No, and you weren't meant to like him, he was a nasty little idiot. Yeah, see, he's got the attitude even then.

She reminds me of my older sister, who used to beat up boys when they teased my brother, who was younger than she was.

Yes, he will be getting along with both of them and you don't have to wait because the next chappie's up of this and a new story--a one-shot, called Object of Affection. It goes with one of my other series, but you don't have to read the previous stories to enjoy it, it's a humor piece.

that was brilliant! the dog show sounded great and I love Eileen here, she rocks. I can sympathize with Severus and am glad he could take Gaby with him to school.

Author's Response: Yes I wanted to make Eileen a strong character here and I really like how she is turning out.  There's a new chapter up now!

Wonderful chapter. Not much else to say besides Kudos is there?

Author's Response: Thanks so much! There's another chapter waiting for you to read and a new story called Object of Affection, if you want to read a humorous Severus/Harry story.

I loved the dog show and I've seen stuff like that happen before, with the underdog winning (pun intended) Everything was beautifully described and I'm glad that nasty boy didn't win, he needed a good kick in the pants.

I felt bad for Severus at the end and happy that Dumbledore allowed him to bring Gabe, he's going to need him.

Author's Response: Thanks so much! You're right, Severus will need him . . .a lot!
