Reviews For The White Laird of the Mountains
Author's Response: Thanks for the review. Yes, if cerebral people are pushed far enough, they can lash out in a rather surprising way lol!
Author's Response: Thanks, I'm really glad; I was a little worried about whether I took things too far in that scene- even though I felt Severus' reaction in character- so I'm very pleased that it was well received
Author's Response: Thanks: I really wanted to write a 'twisty' tale and I'm glad whenever one of my plot twist comes as a surprise to the reader because, as someone who reads way too many books, I always find the more unpredictable stories most entertaining. Thanks for the review and I hope you continue to enjoy the fic :)
Author's Response: Thanks. I'm glad that conflict has come across because I really did not want to write a 'bad' Dumbledore, merely a flawed one who has so many duties and responsibilities that he has to make difficult moral decisions. Snape, of course, having spent the last three years worrying over the safety of his best friend's son, would be furious to discover that the boy had been sent back to an abusive home, where all his work and worry could be undone by an unlucky punch or push. Also, when I was writing this, I rather thought that Severus came from an abusive home too; I didn't elaborate because it was not necessary for the plot but it was an idea in the back of my mind. Anyway, thanks for the review
Author's Response: Well, there's nothing worse than a predictable plot lol! Thanks for the review.
I feel bad for Dumbles, but he had it coming. Is Snape going to take him then? Author's Response: Thanks ^^ Hope you don't get into trouble ;) I feel bad for Dumbledore too, he tried his best in difficult circumstances, but I felt that Severus would probably see the situation in more 'black and white' terms. He was in a bad emotional state at the start of the chapter and, after Harry's shocking revelations, hearing that Dumbledore had sacrificed Lily's son for the greater good would probably cause him to snap.
Author's Response: At the end of HBP, when Harry called him a coward, Severus lost control and slapped him, albiet magically. Therefore, I thought it would be entirely in character for him to snap and clock Dumbledore for allowing Harry to be abused simply because it would prepare him for his destiny better than a loving home would. I'm glad that you think Snape was otherwise in character, however.
Well done! Author's Response: Thanks ^^. I didn't know whether I was going too far but I thought that, as Severus showed himself losing control and slapping Harry, albiet magically, at the end of HBP, it would be entirely in character for him to snap and clock Dumbledore for allowing Harry to be abused simply because it would prepare him for his destiny better than a loving home would. |
