Aw, poor Severus; pettigrew's dissapearance has something to do with Quirrell, I'm sure of it. Looking forward to finding out. Zack Smith seems to have taken the place of Draco, he's a good choice, better than Draco actually.

Great chapter. Love the idea of having a hufflepuff be Harry's school nemesis now that he's friends with Draco. Given his fame within the wizarding world, someone was bound have a go at him and I think what you've done with Smith is very believable.
Also love the idea that Severus's actions are creating ripples of effect like Scabbers/Pettigrew disappearing early. Of course he still has the knowledge and the advantage that the other side don't know what he knows, so he's still ahead of the game! Not as easy as he might have hoped, though.
Hoping for more Severus/Harry interaction soon. :)
I am so enjoying your story. It's amazing how just changing a few "little" things can change so much. When you first mentioned that Peter had disappeared, I thought that maybe Severus had already taken care of him. Now a new light on that thread. Thank you for the update and I look forward to your next one.

Loving this! It's an interesting AU that's for sure, and everything's changed with the future Severus and all.
But you know, something just occurred to me with this chapter: How is Harry ever going to get the Marauder's Map?
It was crucial in helping uncover Wormtail in PoA, and as we all know the Map is currently in the hands of the Weasley Twins.
If Harry's not even close to Ron, how're the Twins gonna give it to him?
Just wondering... ;)

Got to say I'm really enjoying this "Alternate History" story. We've seen many stories written where Harry get's resorted into Slytherin but this is the first Hufflepuff one I've seen. I find I really like the change. Also nice touch having Malfoy and Neville become friends as well. Are you going to reform Vince and Greg too? Can't wait to read more.
