Reviews For Christmas Present
Author's Response: Lol! Well, I was thinking more of a simple bakers apron rather than a pinny; can you imagine how difficult it would be to get white icing out of black rough-silk even with magic? Thanks for the review ^^
Author's Response: Indeed; canon Severus is a man who lives as much in the past as he does the present, so I expect a tradition founded in his happier boyhood days would be kept, if only to honour Lily. Thanks for the review. I cringed when imagining writing that horribly long paragraph 500 times. My hand hurts just thinking about it. And the image of Severus falling asleep while icing the biscuits was touching. Of course, Harry would automatically make the assumption that Snape was up to no good. This was a wonderful story and I'm looking forward to the third installment. Happy Christmas to you! Author's Response: Thanks for the review. I'm really glad my portrayal of GG has gone down so well; while most people are okay with good!Lucius, Grindelwald is a bit more contraversial but, well, J.K.R. hinted heavily that AD loved him throughout his life so that rather indicated that GG was a somewhat different warlord to LV lol! I imagine that Christmas is a rather difficult time for Severus, given his memories of Lily, and, as he needed to keep the brats out of his hair, 500 lines doesn't seem too out of character lol! Happy Christmas
Author's Response: Thanks ^^ I'm glad you enjoyed it
Author's Response: Thank you. I really enjoyed writing this story and I'm glad you liked the way I portrayed the characters ^^
Thanks for sharing this lovely story, and it's predecessor. I love the idea of the tradition of giving house elves cookies, and how Harry has all unwittingly taken over making treats from his mum. The Albus/Gellert scene was very nice... I like the idea of Grindewald making the paper cranes. Very well done! I'll be coming back to re-read this often. Author's Response: Thank you. I'm glad you liked the premise; it evolved from an image which came to me as I wrote christmas cards- Harry walking in on Severus asleep amid his biscuit 'factory'- and it only felt natural to have tender-hearted Harry decide to reciprocate ^^ I'm glad you liked the Albus/Gellert scene: I'd always wanted to do a reconciliation between them and, as I wrote this, the opportunity just appeared ^^. I knew it would be controversial but I've always loved the pairing (which, to be honest, is really the most natural of J.K.R's romances; as both boys were geniuses, they'd have felt isolated by their intellects for most of their childhoods so, when they found each-other and realised that they had met their equal, the attraction must have been electric.) The paper cranes were really a physical symbol of Gellert's remorse and his humanity; although we don't know much about him, in DH he is shown to be human- misguided, yes, and ruthless but not the sadistic psychopath that Voldemort was.
Author's Response: Thanks ^^
Author's Response: Thanks ^^ I tend to write my stories organically; I start with one ides (in this instance the image of a suprised Harry walking into Severus' office to find his teacher asleep and surrounded by biscuits) and just let it develop naturally. 'Potions Monster', alas, isn't my own idea but I've seen it used in so many fics that I don't know who came up with it first lol!
Author's Response: Thanks, glad you enjoyed it ^^ Happy Christmas :) |
