I couldn't stop crying. The story really got to me. I found it well done even though it had me reaching for a tissue near the end.
Lovely start. I love your writing style. I can't wait to read more!
Oh, this is soooo sad! Especially because our little puppy Neville (yes, named after Neville Longbottom) just randomly got sick yesterday and my brother's just found his body a few minutes ago.

Author's Response: No, I can't ever get my head around a mushy Snape. And Harry isn't likely to be anything but obstinant anytime soon.
AWWW This is an awesome story. I LOVE it! Poor, poor Neville (*hums* "concrete angel) I'm glad that through this awful awful awful tragedy that other students, Harry included will be saved. I have a feeling that it won't be a easy task though getting all the students to willingly participate :-) PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE update soon! This is going on my favorite story list

Wow. How sad. I'm really glad it wasn't his grandmother abusing him. Excellently written and I can't wait to read more.
Author's Response: I was thinking about some of the things Neville has said in canon, about his family here.
Amazing, provoking beginning. Very sad tragedy for Neville. Looking forward to seeing what will happen next and how everything will be handled. Love it.
Absolutely gripping first chapter; although I was a little surprised that the abused child was Neville, considering his canon problems in Potions, I think he was an inspired choice and would, naturally, provoke Severus into firmer action when further abuse cases come to light. I loved your portrayal of the teacher's reaction to Neville's death, which was very realistic and vivid, and your depiction of how Harry attempted to hide his abuse. A brilliantly written chapter.
Author's Response: Severus has double helpings of guilt over this, but he's not the only one. Part of my point here is that this happens even in "good" families.
Hi, there! Very interesting concept, but just one problem: you posted the entire first chapter in the "Story Notes" box and then proceeded to post it as an actual linked chapter as well.
All you need to do is go back into your story and delete everything from the "Story Notes" box -- unless of course you'd like to add any extra information *about* your fic (your motivation for writing it, explanations of ideas and events in the story, etc. -- things that are not part of the fic itself but are pieces of the outline), in which case you would use the "Story Notes" box to do so.
I ran into a bit of trouble in posting my first fic as well (this site can be kind of tricky and finicky at times). It'll take some getting used to.
Again, very lovely start. I'm very much looking forward to reading more. :)
Author's Response: Oh, good lord! Thank you. I was working with a seriously problematic internet connection and I guess I pasted it wrong! I was in a hurry before to get things done before it went out again. I think its fixed now.
