I love the idea of a mental connection between father and son, and I love how you’re using that connection. The back story is super helpful, and I’m looking forward to learning more in the chapters ahead.

The history is confusing. Lily left two months after Harry was born = one month before K. was born.

Author's Response: Keep reading.  It's explained in a later chapter.  Thanks for the review.

So, it's Ok that Sev has an affair behind lily's back, but he's angry she left him for James? Go figure.

Author's Response: There's more to it than that but you'll see.  Thanks for the review.

Thanks for the ending chapter notes. I was really trying to figure out the whole Kenai's conception timing. Now I'm dying to know...did Sev cheat on Lily with Kenai's mom? Was he the product of some Death Eater party the Severus had to partake in? Is he even Severus's biological son?

    ARGH...I need answers!!! ;)

Thanks for the information! I love this and don't want to see it all become love and light just yet. I think that Severus will turn on Harry when found for not going to the detention and will give him a double with himself! That would be IC

Wait, so Snape has had the mental connection to Harry all the time he's been with his relatives and he's never considered going to check on him to see why he gets the feelings of pain and unease? I'm sorry, but that just seems monstrous.

It's one thing to be an absentee father, but in this story Snape has shown himself to be a neglectful and even abusive one. The lack of acknowledgment, the constant verbal denigration, the fact that his own son is unable to consider even admitting that he might have helped his brother, not even having the instinctive reaction to *help* when Harry is hurt - it's really too much to bear. And there doesn't seem to be any excuse for it other than selfish self pity. Obviously it's difficult for all fathers (and mothers) who lose their children, but most of them would jump at the chance to reestablish their relationship, rather than act like their child isn't a human being.

I'm sorry, it's probably not your intention, but when I'm reading this I find myself desperately hoping that Harry's going to be adopted by someone else and get a *real* father and family - one who actually loves him and isn't verbally and emotionally abusive like the Snapes. Certainly no reasonable court or social worker would give Snape custody of Harry in the real world. I hope it's going to be the same in this story. I'm glad that at least he doesn't seem to want it. Yes, I agree that Severus is human and can and will make errors like any one else. But people have to take responsibility for those errors and sometimes there are consequences that can't be fixed or overlooked. I can't see how it would be healthy for Harry to have any kind of familial relationship with Snape.

Please believe me when I say that your writing is good. Particularly I think you have a great ear for dialogue; I could hear your characters speaking perfectly. But I don't think I'll be reading anymore of this story; I don't think I could bear it if it was heading for the typical 'Snape and Harry form a family together' ending.

Author's Response: Keep reading, I don't think you'll be disappointed.  Yes, Snape is monstrous, but there is more to it than what you've seen so far, and Harry and the Snape's aren't just going to be jumping into a relationship quickly without thinking over things.  I'm not entirely sure yet at this point if they will be in a relationship at all or not.  What I do know is that things need to be fixed first before anyone can considder them getting into a familial relationship, and that takes time.  All things are fixable however, and that is something I truly do believe.

WOW!! I hope they find him, and I hope to start to see some if the healing.however I don't want ut to be too easy in severus, he had been hurting a child that did him no harm. Also, why did Lily leave? Did he cheat on her, considering how close the two brothers are in age. Did she cheat on him? Did James steal her away? Why didn't Severus take Harry after they died? Sorry I obviously have alot of questions roaming around in my head.

Author's Response: I promise that all of your questions will be answered in the coming chapters.  Thanks for the review.

Hmm, so Snape cheated on Lily possibly? Then he really has no one to blame for her leaving but himself, unless there are extenuating circumstances that we don't know about.

Yay!!Such a good and sad chapter. Sev you punk!!! Lily... ...... >.> We'll see how much I hate you or not later.. Kenai.. Stop being a jerk!! For future chapters.. Hmmm.. I kinda want to see Sev find or start to become suspicious of Harry's upbringing.. And perhaps with the weight of everything perhaps Harry will have reached a breaking point, and become depressed, or perhaps a little broken and Sev will start to realize what an affect he's made on his son.. ^^; Sorry.. I just love angst and guilt trips. lol Of course I want a happy ending in the end too.
