Lovely chapter! I especially appreciated all the small ways in which Snape was forced to acknowledge Harry as his son (from the conversation with Dumbledore, to the room scene, and finally the chapter end). The pacing of their relationship feels slow but natural.
Snape finds Harry talking literal nonsense, not even phased.
Lol. Like the ending. I foresee major angst when Harry finally comes to his senses. :)
Looking forward to seeing where you go from here.

I hope his chance isn't too far lost, but the road will be a difficult one. My father abandoned us and it always leave you wondering what is so wrong with me that you couldn't try, that you didn't care, that you wouldn't love me. I never got my questions answered,I hope Harry does.
Author's Response: I'm sorry to hear that happened to you. I also know how hard it is to have those questions. My mom moved to Coloroado when I was a teenager and said she'd call and write, and when she didn't and I never saw or heard from her for two years I had those same questions. Then I found out that she was calling and writing but my dad was hiding the letters and not telling me that she called. Now I have the opposite perspective as well... we have a child we cannot see (my stepdaughter) because her mom won't let us, and she doesn't know that her dad didn't leave, that her mom is the one preventing her from seeing him. All she knows is what her mom tells her and we're afraid she won't want to see us when she turns 18. Parental separation can be hard on both parties, especially when one or both people don't have all the information (although I am not implying that this is your case, just relating my personal stories to the situation). I hope you get your questions answered someday. Harry will.
Ahh! I really love how this is progressing - honestly, this is one of the more unique Snape as Harry's father stories I've read in ages and I cannot wait to see how it ends up!
I do hope that Snape has a better explanation for leaving Harry with his relatives - though you are very right in saying that his is a fallible human being and that he doesn't always make the right decisions.

Good chapter. It gave a little insight into Severus while not totally redeeming him. Sorry, I didn't mention it, but I love the Weasleys for standing up for Harry. This is the family that I fell in love with in J.K's books. Thanks again.
