This was a heart wrenching chapter. I’m glad that Severus is feeling some of the pain that he’s caused Harry all these years, even as it feels heartless to say so. I like the way you’ve captured Kenai’s anxiety and fears. I haven’t mentioned it yet, but the journal has been a great way to give us more insight into Harry’s inner world. I hope the fractured family can repair itself soon.

So I know that I have another chapter to read before I catch up, but I had to say thank you. The emotions ripping that family apart felt so real, my heart aches for all of them. Also, thank you for your reply. I did blame my mom, at first, but then I realized how hard she worked to find him just so I could say happy birthday. She helped me find him when I was seventeen, I called him, made plans for dinner and he never showed. When he didn't answer my calls, or anything really, that is when I finally gave up on him. So keep trying and don't give up, she hasn't. I hope for a happier ending for you and the Snape men.

Although his last thought may be slightly hyperbolic.

I can't believe that, in one chapter, you actually have me liking Kenai now. Poor kid. Thanks for giving me the answers I was seeking!
What do I want? I kind of like the idea of Sev and Harry getting to know each other a little. Kenai isn't ready yet and this causes issues moving forward. Good feelings mixed with periodic angst in my favorite!
