I love that Harry learned about his elven heritage, however distant it may be. That seems like a significant plot line that I’m hoping to see more of, perhaps in the chapters ahead or in the sequel. The Christmas scene was wonderful.

Kind of feels like in well your notes you kept saying that they wouldn't just jump into a familial relationship but they're basically what they have done. Snape and Kenai haven't even supposed to Harry actually.

I think this was great I love that harry has the Elvin Blood in him... I so want to see more soon please! thank you.

Author's Response: Yeah, this is my first time writing Harry with the elven blood.  I thought it was a strand of hope that Harry needed... that he was welcome and wanted somewhere.

I come bearing review presents. Love it. Please do continue this story...soon!!! I would love to see some more of Severus's uncertainty, a little more floundering. Also, please tell me that Sev will, at some point, read Harry's journal...

Lovely long chapter and a tear jerker but I must admit I have a sneaking liking for when they hated him! How awful i am!

Wow! I really love how this is progressing.

I loved the ways Harry kind of just submitting to the idea (wrong idea, of course - but does Harry ever get it right?) that Snape was going to take his presents away. It's kind of heartbreaking, actually, to think that Harry has had a life so devoid of any degree of personal control whatsoever, that he does not even realise that most punishments actually require consent on behalf of the individual being punished. And that he just accepts that he needs to be punished, and doesn't resist against of the unfair ones. I'd love to see this come into play later on the in story; perhaps where Snape is attempting to show Harry that he needn't be so submissive and passive about punishments, and that resisting unfair/unjust/ones that go against his personal wellbeing (i.e. Umbridge) is okay...not that Snape is above giving out unfair punishments...

There's also some other things I was wondering if you could clear up: What role, if any, do Sirius and Remus play in this? I realise that a lot of Snape/Harry father/son fanfiction kind of exclude both of them from the fiction (especially Sirius) but I was just wondering whether or not they will come into the story. And if so, is Sirius still Harry's godfather (obviously, he wouldn't have been Snape's choice - but perhaps alternative arrangments were made when James adopted Harry?)? And how does he feel about the whole Snape/Harry thing? And what about Remus (who was always more level headed than Sirius, and is generally written as accepting of Snape as Harry's father)? In Canon, Sirius (and, to a degree, Remus) seem to step up as sort of father-figures/mentors for Harry, and I was wondering if anything of the sort occured within the reality of your story.

Also, I've got to agree with another of your reviewers: please let us see more of the Lily and Kenai's mother storyline play out. I get that you don't like flashbacks (honestly, I'm kind of the same way - they are usually done poorly) but the whole "What did I or my mother do that made you hate me" thing has to have a huge impact on the development of any relationship between Harry and Snape. And if I had a brother who my father choose over me, I'd be damn curious about his past, and his mother, as well. So, eventually (like way way into the future of the story, where Harry and Snape are on slightly better terms), I'd love to see Harry's insecurities about their past relationship, and about his mother, come into play.

I probably have about a thousand other questions that I want to ask, but for now, I've forgotten all of them.

But well done on the story - it's rare that I leave such detailed reviews, or that I am constantly checking to see if a story has been updated (not to mention constantly re-reading the story in the hope that, by the time I get to the end, another chapter will be uploaded!).

Thanks for the quick updates as well. Eagerly waiting the next installment!

    Author's Response:

Officially, Sirius is not part of this story and neither is Remus.  Sirius wasn't made Harry's godfather in this story and Remus' involvement ended when he quit teaching although he and Harry still occasionally have contact at the Burrow, but that's not part of the story.  Sorry :(

And don't worry, we'll hear more about Kenai's mother and Lily, but not just yet.

    Thanks much for your review!

That was a wonderful chapter! I'm so glad that the two Snapes have gotten their heads out of their asses.

I loved this chapter! Harry being acknowledged by his father and then spending Christmas with his father and brother had to be the best gifts that he could have ever imagined. You had me smiling for majority of the chapter. I, like Severus, do not want that hole to become empty again.
