Reviews For My Secret Father
Author's Response: Oh just wait until chapter 10 or 11, you will love the whole Voldemort thing.
Like you said Sev s just a human so he make mistakes, but still I'm kinda supriced that he left his child after Lily death... that he wouldn't take his son back. Yeah, I understand he transfer grudge he had for Harry's mother and James for child... ppl are stupid sometimes, well more then sometimes, and that is good example. It based on our way of world seeing and we can't even control it much, can we? Ah, hope it all will change and improve! I like way you do progresses with relatonship and emotons in story! Author's Response: Thanks
What will happen? Will Sev have to save his life from the berries? Will Harry say something in his fevered state? I can't wit to read more! I really liked how we saw more into snape's thoughts and perspectives! Maybe. just maybe I can see a glimpse of hope?
It's one thing to be an absentee father, but in this story Snape has shown himself to be a neglectful and even abusive one. The lack of acknowledgment, the constant verbal denigration, the fact that his own son is unable to consider even admitting that he might have helped his brother, not even having the instinctive reaction to *help* when Harry is hurt - it's really too much to bear. And there doesn't seem to be any excuse for it other than selfish self pity. Obviously it's difficult for all fathers (and mothers) who lose their children, but most of them would jump at the chance to reestablish their relationship, rather than act like their child isn't a human being. I'm sorry, it's probably not your intention, but when I'm reading this I find myself desperately hoping that Harry's going to be adopted by someone else and get a *real* father and family - one who actually loves him and isn't verbally and emotionally abusive like the Snapes. Certainly no reasonable court or social worker would give Snape custody of Harry in the real world. I hope it's going to be the same in this story. I'm glad that at least he doesn't seem to want it. Yes, I agree that Severus is human and can and will make errors like any one else. But people have to take responsibility for those errors and sometimes there are consequences that can't be fixed or overlooked. I can't see how it would be healthy for Harry to have any kind of familial relationship with Snape. Please believe me when I say that your writing is good. Particularly I think you have a great ear for dialogue; I could hear your characters speaking perfectly. But I don't think I'll be reading anymore of this story; I don't think I could bear it if it was heading for the typical 'Snape and Harry form a family together' ending. Author's Response: Keep reading, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Yes, Snape is monstrous, but there is more to it than what you've seen so far, and Harry and the Snape's aren't just going to be jumping into a relationship quickly without thinking over things. I'm not entirely sure yet at this point if they will be in a relationship at all or not. What I do know is that things need to be fixed first before anyone can considder them getting into a familial relationship, and that takes time. All things are fixable however, and that is something I truly do believe.
Author's Response: I promise that all of your questions will be answered in the coming chapters. Thanks for the review.
And I hate the name "Kenai". It sounds anime. Author's Response: Snape's behavior is explained later, and if you were a teenager being treated like Harry has been, you might see the reasoning behind how he feels. Kenai is a word from Alaska, not any kind of Asian culture (that I know of). Seems like a pure flame review to me. Nothing remotely constructive about how to improve in anything you said. I don't mind if people don't like what I've written, so long as they actually have something constructive to say. If you feel like its a chore to read, simply move along to the next story, or maybe even a genre full of fluff or empty plot with flat characters.
