Author's Response: Thank you very much for your compliments, and most of all for your explanation on how Dumbledore made you feel. I'm striving for a more human Dumbledore - meddlesome, yes, but human - and to know that someone else sees that gives me a great sense of accomplishment! <3

Very nice, fresh take on this old theme. I like how Severus doesn't see Albus' second objective of bringing him and Harry together to heal his own heart. And I like how Vernon didn't need to beat Harry in order for it to be wrong. Looking forward to your next chapter!
Author's Response: Thank you very much; it will be awhile before Severus cottons on to things, but its always fun when the readers know more than the characters. Also, I'm glad you felt that about Vernon - I find that a lot of abusive Dursley tales involve heavy physical abuse. I won't give anything away, but I'm trying to steer into something I consider to be a whole lot worse than constant beatings. I hope you stay tuned to see what i mean by that!

Well done. You brought Albus Dumbledore and his castle to brilliant life and light. Your Dumbledore's reflections explain so much of his actions in the canon story that are usually left untouched, that it's possible to continue to love and be angry with him even as we develop a deaper understanding of him. Most stories tell you to either love or hate him, but yours makes him human. Love it!
