Reviews For Through a Glass, Darkly
Author's Response: I agree with Charity Burbage, too - I always liked that they introduced a school choir in the movies, and a band (the one that plays at the Yule ball opening). Thanks for letting me know what you think!
Author's Response: Sorry! The next chapter will be up soon, though :). Thank you for reviewing!
I really liked Snape's thoughts on how logic and math would affect the students ability with potioins. I always wondered is arithmancy the wizarding equivalent of higher math? Are they expected to know basic maths from primary school? Though it works well in this story for the curriculum to only offer it as an elective. Looking forward to more. Author's Response: I think wizarding kids are expected to know basic maths, writing etc. from primary school (or homeschooling; somehow I can't see the Weasley children in Muggle primary school :)!). I looked up arithmancy, and was surprised that it seems to be a form of divination through numbers, and analyzing someone's personality through their name - so Hermione is actually interested in divination, just not Trelawney's brand! I think it's supposed to be a form of higher mathematics, but it doesn't sound as scientific as for instance Potions. I'd think in order to do really well in Potions, students would need at least a basic understanding of chemical reactions (maybe that's why no one's really good at it) ... but then again, I'm no Potions master, so perhaps not. Sorry, rambling on... anyway, thank you for reviewing, and I'm glad I have you coming back for more!
Author's Response: Thanks!
Author's Response: Thank you - and yes, no rest for the wicked, that is, Snape! Thank you for reviewing!
Author's Response: Thank you very much! I promise to update ASAP :)!
Excellent chapter. Love the time spent with Severus. That Harry's a good boy. Hope all will be well in the next chapter. Post again soon! Author's Response: Thank you! Harry's a good kid, yeah, and probably a good influence on Snape. Thank you for reviewing! |
