Author's Response: Hey... Thanks for checking up. I know it has been a bit. My dad had a heart attack and I haven't got my computer with me. I have my phone tho and can send emails and such. I have the chapter half written, and I promise I will get it up ad soon as possible. =)
All the boys need to apologise back to Severus as well though. Pranking on Christmas! Not cool. Good writing overall :) I love your work. Please keep it coming.
The veil idea was excellent and you're really pulling it off well! It's definitely a tricky plot to write! Thanks for sharing!

I am 63 years old and female and come from a time where, as kids, if someone picked on us or bullied us, the bullying was ended by the bully having bloody nose or a black eye. The bully and friends got the message that the action would not be put up with and they would suffer for it. It was usally a lot more effective than a parent or teacher intervening. The parent or teacher won't always be there but your fists are. I guess what i am saying is that it is not always a bad thing to hit someone who is being exceptionally mean or cruel - sometimes it is the only way to to get the message across. Severus was crying - Severus hit Sirius - now Sirius is crying - how does it feel Sirius.
Severus has several excuses for his hitting Sirius. First he was sick (because of Sirius's trick) then he had lost two prized positons - one he was looking forward to and one that he loved. Any child is going to react in those circumstances. If he is punished in the same vicinity as Sirius then he could think that his "crime" was equal to Sirius and it wasn't. He didn't set out that day to hurt Sirius but Sirius set out to hurt him. In the past, no one stood up for him and no one punished the mauraders. If he fought back against the four, he was either hurt or punished. If he is punished along side Sirius, then he could feel it is happening again. He was hurt (physically with the fever and accompanying illness) three times, he struck back and now he is being punished. Harry and Ginny do need to let him know that hitting is not the answer and maybe give him lines to that point but done in a different location (like maybe in one of their laps) Sort of like - what Sirius did was wrong, wrong, very wrong - no excuses. What you did was wrong but we understand why and we love you and it won't happen again. Wow, I didn't mean to go on but I couldn't explain what I meant in only a few words. Author's Response: Ah! See I wanted to do that... Let Severus off with a warning.... Now that you put it like that I may have to let little Sevy off... =) thanks for the review!
