Your story is adorable! And I love the Harry/Hermione interaction.
I'm not sure how far you're going to take this fic (through how many years, etc), may I issue a challenge to you, should you feel up to it?
A little explanation first: Harry/Hermione is my favorite 'ship, and I adore the Harry/Severus father(mentor)/son stories as well; however, there are far too few stories that feature Harry/Severus in a father/son-type relationship where the Harry is paired with Hermione. I believe I've only found three or four ... Rather, everyone pairs her with Ron, which is disgusting and disturbing considering how Ron treats her (including in canon, which I prefer to ignore), and how they are always arguing and fighting (and no, that's not UST, it's actually shows the beginnings of an abusive relationship). They also tend to pair Harry with Ginny, which is also disturbing and speaks of an Oedipus complex.
So, depending on how far you're going to take this fic (teen years, adulthood, etc), I'd like to challenge you to make it a Harry/Hermione 'ship fic. You up for it?
