Ooo I love what you did there, I wish the birthday wish had been in canon it’s such a good idea!
Author's Response: Yes, I would've liked something more than Harry's somewhat despondent "Make a wish, Harry" while blowing out candles drawn in the dusty floor of the Hut. But when I get to play with the characters, I can make it happen! Glad you liked it, and thanks fir reading and reviewing!

Lovely chapter thank you
Author's Response: Thanks! I really wanted Harry's birthday to be special, in spite of the Dursleys. 😉 Thanks for the review!

Excellent so far!
Author's Response: Thanks! And it gets even more interesting from this point on! Your review is truly appreciated!
What a good day for Harry. Not only did he get the weeding done, he didn't have to serve the Dursleys and was able to filch a decent meal, including cake.
Author's Response: Yep! I've had several crappy birthdays, but I wanted Harry's to be great! I could do with some chocolate cake right now... Thanks for the review! ;-)

Good chapter, demonstrating the Dursley's cruelty to Harry without resorting to anything over the top. And I've always found stories where Harry never manages to acquire himself some food, despite working in the kitchen all the time, somewhat unbelievable.
Author's Response: Yes, kids are resourceful when the circumstances call for it. Besides, it was his BIRTHDAY! Can't have the poor little chap missing out altogether!
Awww another great chapter! Poor Harry having a cladestine birthday...awww
Author's Response: Well, at least he's not locked in his cupboard for this one! He actually has roast beef and a crusty roll! And a bit of cake! And dinner candles to WISH on! (That's the most important element of this special day...)
And so it begins. :-(
How perfectly cruel (and yet believable) of them to let Dudley have a celebratory meal on his cpusin's birthday and not let him join them!
Author's Response: Well, they're ... Dursleys! It's hard to come up with any way to excuse their behavior; I just tried to keep them in character! Hee!
