Reviews For Hut of No Return
Author's Response: Indeed!!! 😆 Thanks for reading and ... well, I hope that wasn't a negative review! Hee!
Author's Response: This was a fun chapter to write. I really wanted to build up the tension prior to Hagrid's arrival, so that Vernon's actions would follow naturally from his personal distress. Thanks for reading and reviewing!
Author's Response: *ahem* Did you see "character death" among the Warnings??? Were you FOOLED??? Hee Hee!!! Yes, poor Hagrid had to get shot in order for the Dursleys to leave Harry behind on the Rock. Seriously-- If they'd left as planned, Harry would have returned to Surrey with them! So, in order for the plot to take off, poor Hagrid... But I COULDN'T KILL HIM!!!! NOT HAGRID!!! I don't know how readers actually "experienced" that scene. Since I wrote it, I KNEW Hagrid would survive to be rescued, but I wanted readers to be shocked at Vernon's madness reaching a crisis. Who was it who said, If there's a gun on stage, it has to go off? (Ibsen? Somebody I studied my sophomore year in college...) Well, the shotgun had to go off, and I suppose the readers got a SERIOUS jolt! One person told me she was so worried that Harry might get shot that she'd forgotten about Hagrid! But onward with the PLOT...
And now, judging by the dates, they habe several daus still yet begore they are found. Hopefully Hagrid has something edible in his many pockets! Great chapter!!! Author's Response: Who was it who said, if there's a gun onstage, it has to go off? Anyway, I decided to have the gun go off! I kept wondering after reading/viewing SS, why have a shotgun in the Hut? On a Rock in the Sea? What was Vernon planning to shoot? I decided to lay the groundwork by having him shooting AT owls, but Hagrid had to become the real victim (hope he can forgive me!) so that the Dursleys would be forced to leave the Rock. Now the plot begins to take off! (Yes, when there's a plot onstage, it has to take off! Hee!) |
