Reviews For Hut of No Return
And now, judging by the dates, they habe several daus still yet begore they are found. Hopefully Hagrid has something edible in his many pockets! Great chapter!!! Author's Response: Who was it who said, if there's a gun onstage, it has to go off? Anyway, I decided to have the gun go off! I kept wondering after reading/viewing SS, why have a shotgun in the Hut? On a Rock in the Sea? What was Vernon planning to shoot? I decided to lay the groundwork by having him shooting AT owls, but Hagrid had to become the real victim (hope he can forgive me!) so that the Dursleys would be forced to leave the Rock. Now the plot begins to take off! (Yes, when there's a plot onstage, it has to take off! Hee!)
I'm even feeling a little sorry for Petunia right now! Yikes!! Author's Response: Honey, you ain't seen NOTHIN' yet! ;-P
Author's Response: Oooh, sorry... No sequel planned. I was mainly trying to come up with a twist on Snape rescuing Harry from some place besides Privet Drive, so this story was always intended to be a stand-alone. But many thanks for reading! And I'm glad you enjoyed it! And special thanks for taking the time to post a review!
How perfectly cruel (and yet believable) of them to let Dudley have a celebratory meal on his cpusin's birthday and not let him join them! Author's Response: Well, they're ... Dursleys! It's hard to come up with any way to excuse their behavior; I just tried to keep them in character! Hee!
Time to scurry to the next chapter. Author's Response: Heh heh! Don't look now, but I have great plans for Snape! He won't know what hit him!
Author's Response: Yes, sadly, it's the end... I don't have a sequel planned (several people have already asked about that), but I'm so pleased you enjoyed reading this! And many, many thanks for taking the time to let me know! :-)
I really enjoyed reading this story this morning. So much so I read strait through morning chores! I'm looking forward to coming back to your stories tonight to see what else you have written. I can't help hoping for a sequel. I loved a Slytherin Harry in Gryffindor. I can't help wondering how soon until Snape realizes he is raising a secret Slytherin...and how long before Harry admits the sorting hat called him a true Slytherin. Anyway, a sincere 'Thank you!' for a wonderful story. Author's Response: Oh dear! I don't have a sequel planned-- keep wanting to go on to new stuff, ya know? But if I'm ever at a loss for something to write... Anyway, hope you get some mileage out of my other stories-- most are one-shots, but I keep trying to come up with unique ideas! "Hut" is actually the longest completed story I've written, so it's fantastic to see how my readers have enjoyed it! Thanks so much for taking the time to review! :-D
My favorite bit, though, has got to be Harry seeing Snape in the newspaper and developing a cute case of hero worship. Gotta ask, any chance for a sequel? Well done. Author's Response: Many thanks!!! Sorry to say so, but I don't have a sequel planned (tho' never say never...), since my goal in writing this was to have Snape rescue Harry from the Hut (so many stories have him being rescued from Privet Drive!). The circumstances would help Snape revise his preconceptions of Harry. I'd never seen the Hut used as a central setting in any story, so I loved playing around with that! As for the newspaper Snape-- that actually arose from P&S's requirement for Snape/Harry interaction. I could put Snape in his own chapters, but if Harry didn't know Snape existed... Then I remembered the owl that brought the Prophet to Hagrid in SS, and the rest of the story fell into place! I was just hoping that having their face-to-face interaction skewed toward the end of the story wouldn't keep the story from being accepted! But it's up!!! Thanks for reading and reviewing! :-)
Author's Response: Yep! Writing this Snape was tricky, what with trying to keep him in character, but also having him reaching out to Harry when the child greeted him with positive adulation! He can see the boy's natural aptitude and potential, and that helps Snape truly separate Harry from the memory of James.
Author's Response: Oh, wow! You LAUGHED! Excellent! I'm always afraid to put "humor" with other genres, in case what I'd intended to be funny ended up falling flat! Thanks for letting me know, and I'm so glad you enjoyed it! |
