Love the chapter and this whole story. I do hope that Ron and Hermione have baby Hugo in this story. I wouldn't mind if he ended up named after Harry, but I do want him around. Is it normal for a godparent to also be your aunt and uncle? I'm not really familiar with the concept...I would have thought all the kids would have the same godparents, but guess I was wrong about that.
Author's Response: Re:godparents
Well, I'm Catholic, and the way we choose godparents is that you can have a godparent be a relative or a friend as long as at least one is Catholic and promises to raise the child in that religion should something happen to the parent. I'm assuming it's the same kind of thing in the wizarding world, with the added responsibility that the godparent is also responsible for the child until he/she turns 17, like a guardian. In my family it's very normal to choose a sibling for your baby's godparent or even a best friend, it all depends on who you feel most appropriate. I'm a godmother twice, once to my sister's son and once to my brother's son. One of my sisters is a godparent to five different kids, some on my side of the family and some from her husband's.
I figured it only made sense that Harry and Ginny have Ron and Hermione as godparents to their baby girl since they'd already had the Longbottoms and the Malfoys and they would have been close to the Weasleys. I also like the fact that somebody names their baby after Harry, considering he's their best friend and also famous, and one would think at least one of his friends would have a son who's Harry's namesake. And Fred's too. Thanks for reading!
