Giving the readers Harry's thoughts about his life really helped us gain an insight into what his life has been like, how things have been for him prior to, and since coming to Hogwarts. It also shows us the various obstacles which he will have to face. It is great that he has someone like Professor Snape to help guide him along the way.

Author's Response: Yes. Will Harry learn to button his own buttons and tie his own tie? I think that Professor Snape will be able to help Harry in one way or another. And Professor Snape is one of the few who chooses to see "Real Harry" rather than "Fake Harry." Thank you for your reviews.

This chapter was a stroke of genius. I like how you showed Harry's differentiated thinking and how literal he takes everything. In his mind, he followed instructions perfectly, and, yes, that could be taken by an adult as being rather cheeky or smart, but in reality, Harry followed the letter of the law. He seems to see things as very black and white and you do an excellent job of explaining that to the reader.

Author's Response: Thank you! Harry's literal thinking will, of course, be getting him into some more scrapes along the way.

I really like how you changed things up during this first week of school, and how it was Harry who got the answers correct. Ron's loyalty toward him is also a wonderful touch, as is Snape's continued understanding and patience. I like that it is Malfoy who doesn't know the answers, and that Snape doesn't seem to vilify any one student.

Author's Response: Ah yes. Malfoy. What is he plotting?

It is great that you have Professors McGonagall and Snape explaining things to Harry, and also show how important routine is to him, as well as some of the differences in how he thinks compared to others. His straight forwardness might seem rude to some, but in reality, in his thinking, he is just being honest. I like how you are delineating this for the reader, and making it very entertaining at the same time.

Author's Response: Thank you. I am glad you found it entertaining but enlightening. Expect more Literal Harry in the chapters to come.

I think that what Professor Snape does here is brilliant. He seems to understand what is happening and how to work with Harry, how to help him through this. His patience is key. Sometimes it can be rather taxing to listen to a student talk, seemingly endlessly, about a particular subject of interest, but it is very often rewarding when you've gained that student's trust as Severus has done here. Well written.

Author's Response: Yes, Snape seems to understand how to interact with Harry and has gained his trust. I wanted Snape to realize that Harry wasn't his father immediately after Snape learned about what Autism was and what it meant. I think that Snape's ability to look past the superficial resemblance to Potter Sr. and see the actual Harry that exists beneath that is going to work out marvelously for the pair in the long term.

Excellent description of how hard it is for Harry to deal with everything. With all that is going on around him, it is no wonder that he has to block it out by retreating, to a certain degree, within himself. Great start.

Author's Response: Thank you! Yes, he does retreat into himself when unable to deal with the current situation.

Wow! Great story. I'm intriguied. My oldest son is Autistic, but not as high functioning as Harry in this story. So, it makes the story very personal for me. Great job.

Author's Response: Hello. Thank you for the review. I am glad you like it.
