Oh! This was just the best Christmas story I've read in ages! I truly loved how you kept the Dickensian turn of phrase, and still kept it all in the Harry Potter-verse too. The mental image of Snape in blue robes, with his hair drawn back was wonderful, and I loved picturing him seated by the fire with Albus on his lap and the rest of the Potters gathered around.
And I thoroughly enjoyed the revelation that the narrator was none other than Dumbledore. :)
I wish you a very Blessed, Merry, and Happy Holiday Season!
Author's Response: Thank you very much! I had a lot of fun imitating Victorian prose, and I'm glad you think it worked! What a nice picture, Snape with little Albus on his lap, sitting by the fire and reading a Christmas story to his honorary Godson.
Somehow, I imagine Dumbledore would be a Dickens fan (he might actually own first editions that he bought himself ;) ), and who better to inspire him than his favorite author?
Thank you very much for reviewing, and a very merry Holiday Season to you, too!
