Reviews For Wishing Will Make It So
I still love it. Author's Response: Thank you so much! I can't believe it's been that long since I wrote it! The world has changed a lot, and we've been through some unimaginable experiencs during those years. I'm wondering how my writing has evolved since "happier days" ... Many thanks for rereading and letting me know how much this story still means to you! 😊
Author's Response: I never read a lot of fantasy as I grew up. Mainly, I cut my teeth on mysteries, got through numerous Gothic mysteries, plunged into action-adventure (with a foray into romance), then a limited view of sci-fi in Star Trek novels, and later Amish novels, Victorian mysteries, and the Mitford series (Jan Karon) & Elm Creek Quilts series (Chiaverini). So, my experience with fantasy really is centered on Harry Potter. (Oh, I did read Tolkien!) I didn't have a lot of confidence in writing fantasy stories myself, but I've always had IMAGINATION, and I threw EVERYTHING into this story! So glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for reading and reviewing!
Author's Response: Based on the date of your review, you've been enjoying Christmas in July! In 2018, no less... I'm responding in June 2021-- I cannot believe how the world (and my own life) have changed so radically in the past three years. My apologies for taking so long to thank you for your reviews, but be assured, I do truly appreciate them! 🐢
Author's Response: Thanks! My sense of imagination kind of took on a life of its own with this story, but I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for reading and reviewing!
Author's Response: And yes, another happy ending! (I have to admit, when it comes to Christmas stories, I'm kind of committed to that aspect! Hee!) Many thanks for taking the time to leave a review!
Author's Response: You're welcome! I really like mentor fics (both reading and writing) because we get that side of Snape that he often keeps buttoned up! But when he decides to loosen up, he's fun to watch in action and interaction! Thank you so much for reviewing! :-D
Author's Response: Thank you very much! It's always a challenge to come up with something that I haven't seen in HP fanfics (well, someone may have already done it, but I've read only a tiny fraction of what's out there!), and the snow globe angle looked like it had good prospects. As a kid, I'd wished myself into various beautiful snow globes, but I only thought of positive effects. Somehow, that seemed a bit too cliche to write, so I decided to look at a more negative outcome-- at least temporarily! Whoa! Now I could get excited! Thanks again for reading and reviewing! :-)
Author's Response: When I was a kid, I used to fantasize about being in a snow globe-- I thought it would be so cool! But it wasn't until I suddenly got the idea that something could go WRONG that I came up with the premise for this story! I had a fantastic time writing this, and I really appreciate you reading it and letting me know you liked it! Merry Christmas! :-)
Author's Response: You know, you've really hit upon one of the most important aspects that J.K. Rowling includes in her books: the way Harry thinks. I kept marveling at how well she could get into Harry's mind, and I keep trying to work with that idea. My biggest handicap is NOT being male, so I take my best shot and hope it hits SOMEWHERE on the target! But seeing/feeling the characters' inner workings can draw the readers in. (I know what works for me AS a reader!) Thank you so much for reading and reviewing!
Author's Response: Hi! Thank you so much for letting me know what you thought of "Wishing"! And I'm so glad you enjoyed reading it! The idea came to me just after I woke up one morning-- I don't think I actually dreamed it first-- and I started writing. (Like, what else COULD I do?!) It's always thrilling to know that people are still reading it, so many thanks for leaving a review! :-) |
