Reviews For Wishing Will Make It So
Author's Response: Sorry if it disappoints you to learn that this story is complete, and I did not plan on writing a sequel. :-( But I appreciate your reading it and many thanks for leaving a review! :-) Happy New Year!
It was such a wonderful premise, and I really liked how you put it all together. The things that Harry thought made me giggle from time to time; like when he considered what it would be like to live as a miniature person, for example. I really liked your interpretation of Snape, and I felt that you handled the moderation of his feelings about "Potterspawn" to "Lily's child" in the way he thought about Harry very well. I think that you ended it in the right place. This way I can imagine in my head what happened next... Thank you for this lovely story. I'm putting it on my favorites list and I'll most definitely re-read it! Well done! Author's Response: Thank you! Thank you! I'll raise a toast to your imagination! As for getting into other people's minds/imaginations (Harry & Snape, in this case), that's always the challenge, but it makes it worthwhile, because I think it casts a cloak of reality over the characters. You don't just observe them from the outside. I think of JKR letting us see Harry at the Sorting, and he wonders if he'll be picked for ANY house; I can relate to his thoughts, since I was always one of the last two kids ever picked for any team, and it HURTS to be that rejected ... constantly. I believe I relate so well to both Snape and Harry because I have actually experienced that degree of rejection and bullying, and it makes it easier to get inside their minds, trying to express their thoughts and feelings to my readers. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing! Merry Christmas!
I'd love to see more of Harry's interactions with this Snape, who isn't going to coddle him, but will encourage him. And Snape's already aware of Harry's intelligence and magical potential. Hmmmm. Do you think if I wish hard enough ... ? ;) Author's Response: Hee! Well, sorry to say, I'm not a Hogwarts snow globe! I hadn't planned on writing a sequel, but I truly appreciate the vote of confidence! Thank you so much for reading and for letting me know what you really liked about "Wishing". Happy Holidays! :-)
Author's Response: Thank you so very very much! I don't have a broad background in reading fantasy fiction, so I hoped my imagination hadn't gone awry when I got hit with this idea! I'm so pleased that you loved the story, and thank you so much for the reviews! :-D Joy to the world!
Author's Response: Ha! I can't claim originality for that line (!), but I thought it was perfect for the situation! My biggest challenge was figuring out the LOGIC that led up to Harry shouting, "Beam me out, Scotty!" (Spock would have said there was little logic at all...!)
Author's Response: Just wait 'til you see what happens next! Hope you'll enjoy the rest of the story, too. Thanks for reading and reviewing! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
And you're definitely welcome for the reviews, I try to review for every story I read and especially for the ones I enjoyed. I really liked this one and felt that a sequel would really do it justice. You know, show how Harry's adjusting and all (I admit I'd love to see more Snape as well). Argh, I wish author replies has a reply button on it like Fanfiction does. It'd make things a lot easier! Author's Response: ;-D !!!
Author's Response: LOL indeed! (And believe me when I say I really NEEDED a laugh! My Christmas lights are giving me absolute fits-- one strand has fallen down numerous times, while another flat out refuses to light up...) But seriously, you're incredibly sweet to come back today and add in the reviews for the earlier chaps! That also explains why you were asking about a sequel after the third chapter-- I'd wondered! // Now QUICK: find a good hiding place so Santa won't spot you! (Ho ho ho! ;-D )
And Merry Christmas! Are you planning on doing a sequel? It would really wrap things up nicely Author's Response: I don't have a sequel planned, but many thanks for reading this story, and I really appreciate your taking the time to review each chapter!!! You're absolutely terrific! :-D
Author's Response: Hee! There is always so much emphasis placed on Snape's eyes in canon, I decided to really play it up in this story! And as if a giant's eyes alone aren't enough, there's the MAGNIFYING glass! *snorts* |
