Yes, I agree with you. It's easy for adolescents to see the world as black and white, very easy. That's what causes half the drama and fights among them, because they can't or won't see others' POV, only their own.

Here. harry is refusing to listen to what Severus tells him. He's refusing to see that Sev has a valid point here--why should he like or even attempt to like someone who thinks he's scum and nothing--no sacrifice, no atonement, will ever be good enough to change it? Why is Sirius good when he feels no guilt over trying to kill Severus?

No guilt to me equals no conscience. And those with no consciences are very dangerous people. because they can kill and justify it to themselves and never look back. Half the massacres and atrocities committed were by those who felt no remorse or guilt over murder.

It's why I've never really liked Sirius in the books because he never admitted he was in the wrong to try and kill Severus.

Severus, however, did admit to his mistakes and tried to make amends, in fact he died trying.

In this story, yes, I feel bad that it's over between them, but I feel the fault is more Harry's than Severus, since Harry thinks he can force Severus to call Sirius a good person.

Severus has his reasons for disliking the other man, and Harry should be mature enough to realize that you don't have to like someone in order to work with them. How about him and Draco?

    Good story!

have you seen my latest collaberation yet with LeeRoy on here? It's called UnVeiled. If you wouldn't mind reading it, I'd be very happy!

    Author's Response:

They do, don't they.  I was watching some today and witnessing how odd they are with their narrow view.  Luckily no fighting, but it was amusing how much they disliked being told to be quiet during a presentation.  Plus they continuously talk even after shushing at the others.  (*sighs* so cute and yet so... well teen-like)

Yeppers.  Sev has a very valid point.  Why should he forgive Sirius when Sirius doesn't even admit that he has done something wrong.  I'm tempted to make a second story where Harry gets that knocked into his head.  I tried so hard to respect Paddyandmoony's challenge, but I couldn't do it.  James perhaps became a better person.  Big perhaps, because all we hear about him comes from sources that were continously praising his behavior at school.  I'm willing to attempt to give him the benefit of the doubt.  Sirius on the other hand.... I don't know if it was Azkaban or just Black craziness in general but, your right, there is an almost soulless quality to him at times; like he doesn't realize what he is doing is wrong because it benefits him.  (Oddly, in my head I've compared him to his cousin Bellatrix occassionally.  They both have a crazy, but it manifests in different ways.)

Really?  I'm surprised.  He always seems so good in your stories or at least a little bit redeemable.

Severus really did attempt to make amends.  Granted maybe not for the best reasons at first, but he tried.  However I can see him believing that he was going to burn for what he did.  He seems to feel emotions really deeply despite not showing them on the outside.

I agree it's mostly Harry's fault that its over (and that's only in Harry's mind. You know once Sev loves and cares, he cares... always) and again tempted to have some events that... force him to realize what you have said to me.  Any suggestions, oh queen of stories?

Thank you, that means a lot coming from you!

I haven't read it yet.  I'm planning on it eventually.  I usually shy away from reverse stories, especially ones with Sirius... however I might make an exception.

     *grins*

Thank you again for the review, it means a lot!

You're right, that ending just plain sucked!!!!! "To err is human, to forgive, divine." Apparently Sev never heard that! It's a sad sad sad person that can never forgive another, it's not like they killed his loved ones or anything remotely similar. He gave as good as he got! Your Snape is just a sad, pathetic LOSER!!! Shameful, really!

I like it, and I think it's very realistic. At some point in the future, Harry will think back to this conversation and understand that his younger self had yet a lot to learn.

    A well-written and thoughtful piece!

    Author's Response:

Yes I suspect he will, either that or he is going to be in for a wake up call when he talks to Sirius... or perhaps he'll just agree with Sirius.

Thanks for the review and the compliment.

That was interesting. I don't mind that you didn't end it on a happy note. I'm actually very tired of overly sappy stories and enjoy a good dark one every now and then.

I particularly liked this line. Seeing it in the synopsis is actually what made me read it:

"They were good people to you, Mr. Potter."

That speaks volumes and I'm sure everyone can relate to that in some way. No matter what their age, Harry and Snape both have a good deal of growing up to do.

    Thanks for sharing! :-)

    Author's Response:

I'm glad someone liked the sad note.  And I agree overly sappy stories can be tiring.  (If you're on fanfiction.net, don't tell evil minded that because it will provoke her to write more dark stories. *laughs* No , if you like dark stories, she's good at mixing dark with some nice pieces.)

Ya, they still have some growing up to do, but at least Severus knows that you can have two conflicting points of view and still be friends/mentor/mentee.  But yes they have a good deal of growing up to do.

Your welcome and thanks for reviewing!
