I have this horrible feeling that Severus and Harry are in the equivalent of a roach motel. You check in, you don't check out. In fact this is reminiscent of a Twilight Zone or a Outlimits episode.

I had to laugh when Harry put his hand against the wall & all the carnival lights went off! (Reminded me of when I worked in a furniture store and hit ENTER on the computer, and all the lights in the store went off! Pure coincidence, but it FELT like cause and effect! I KNEW exactly how Harry felt!!!) You have really created an ominous atmosphere that permeates the story as a whole. The most innocuous actions are infused with this surreal tension, like simply eating dinner. Looking forward to the next update! (And wondering if Harry is going sleepwalking with the guard animals wandering loose...)
I admit this whole Carnival thing seems very intriguing...update soon!
Great chapter! Something is very mysterious about this carnival it seems.
So far, so good. I am looking forward to seeing what happens next and what sort of jobs will be assigned to Harry and Severus.
My curriousity is peaked but I get a feeling for some reason that Severus and Harry are in danger from this Carnival family of sorts- why can't Mina remember how long she has been there....

Somehow the last part of this chapter reinforces my belief that this carnival is not all good and nice. There is something going on, something maybe not sinister (yet) but something deceiving. Can't wait for more, update soon
