Keep up the great work. I'm loving this. Author's Response: Thank you so much! I think it's hard for a lot of people because obviously we're all Snape fans and it was pretty clear in the books that the Marauders were pretty horrible to him. For some reason people seem to think they have to cause strife between Sirius and Harry in order to foster the relationship between Severus and Harry. I don't think that is so. I wanted to write a just slightly more mature Sirius who loves his godson and wants what is best for him. My goal was to write a realistic story which isn't too much hate-on-Harry or too fluffy. Just real. I'm glad to hear that I am succeeding in that. Although it has made a lot of people object to Lily and her parenting but I am of the personal opinion that one can love their child and make a lot of mistakes. I don't think I've written her as being abusive or even neglectful. I think if Severus was to ever lay hands on Harry or do anything else that she would deem unforgivable, she would leave him. It's a complex situation. It's easy to say that she should leave someone who doesn't love her son as much as she does. It's a harder thing for a real person to actually do especially when the conflict isn't visibly hurting her son. She isn't fully aware of the emotional toll it has had on Harry. Sometimes parents miss those things. Anyway, /rant. Hehe. Also, good to know the corporal punishment is written well. This is my first story dealing with that issue. I agree that a lot of stories tend to focus too much on that aspect of the story and/or overuse it every time the child misbehaves. Okay, my response to your review was longer than the review itself. v.v. Thanks for reading and leaving this encouragement. I will have another chapter up soon. :)
I hope that Lily and Severus can work things out. It just all seems so complicated. Good chappie. I am anxious to see what happens next.

Lily is, indeed, getting on my nerves. She is kinda wishy-washy. I mean, yea, Severus could have done better, but at least he is trying. I just feel like a lot of the hard feelings between Harry and Sev are Lily's fault because of her attitude towards both. However, I do feel like the Lily and Sev need to make up before long, so that Harry can stop feeling like it is all his fault. That isn't fair to him...he does seem to be trying harder, and with the fact that Sev acted like he believed him about the attack, that will probably help things along. Lily really needs to stop sending Harry off to Sirius every single time something happens. She isn't helping in this way either. Do realize that none of this is a criticism of your writing, which is amazing by the way, or your plot, which is excellent so far, it is only the characters, which I feel like, in reality, a writer has no control over lol. Those characters will do what they want, no matter how much you try to get them to do something else. lol. Again, excellent job!! Author's Response: Haha. Okay, so the deal is that I really wanted my characters to be imperfect which apparently I've succeeded in. Lol. I know that fanfiction is really supposed to be fantasy, BUT how many of us, if our parenting was really scrutinized by others, wouldn't fall under a little criticism? The fact is that people tend to be selfish . . . well-meaning, often, but selfish. Also, people who are close get into fights sometimes and people who have known each other for as long as Severus and Lily tend to know EXACTLY what buttons to push. Lily feels quite overwhelmed even though she does genuinely love her son . . . I agree that the situation is unfair to Harry but I feel that it is true to life that a lot of times when parents fight the children tend to blame themselves. Especially in a situation where the relationship with one of said parents isn't that good to begin with. Anyway, I do plan to reconcile them . . . Lupin is going to give them a good what-for in the next chapter. :) Don't know how I'll do writing angry!Lupin because I usually write him as a character who tries to keep the peace. Anyway, thanks for the review!
