Reviews For Rebirth
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it
Author's Response: Thanks lirio! As I said to CeeCee I want to thank you deeply for helping me publish or send this story, to increase my confidence and correcting my grammar horrors XD Muchas gracias amiga!
Excellent use of the prompts for a very compelling tale! Thank you so much for sharing it with us! Author's Response: I'm really glad you like it. Some authors have said that it is a little sad but as I said in other replies I have my reasons. And maybe more. I think living in the country where I live has made me more aware of the hardships and feeling of being at war. Eventhough violence has just but grazed me I feel deeply for those afected and involved in warfare (I hope this makes sense)
To read how Harry had obtained a mastery in DADA as well as mediwizardry (for Hermione) and curse breaking (for Ron) seemed such a perfect tribute to them but so tragic at the same time. You did a great job of portraying his anguish. I'm glad that Icarus was able to start pulling him out of his seclusion and onwards toward life again. Very well done. Author's Response: Thanks CeeCee I really appreciate how you helped me to improve my confidence because I really was afraid that I had wrote something shitty (if you pardon my bad english). Hearing from both lirio and you helped me not only with my ahem crappy ahem english but it helped me with the final outcome.
Then Severus came into it and I really liked the nicknames given. I liked the entire story and the usage of quotes/phrases was very well blended and a nice addition. Overall, I think this one-shot was very deep and yet natural, like the way night becomes day...it started out sad, and shadowed, and then there was light and a sense of renew. If that makes any sense to you :P. Anyway, thanks for sharing and I think you did a very good job! Author's Response: Well, I thought to use nicknames because I had to convey some familiarity between Harry and Severus without necessarily being on first name basis at first. I like things to be subtle (sometimes I do not achieve it). Mind you, in my mind, their nicknames have always been there. I don't know why but most of the time, when I'm writing something the quotes come up in my mind and I feel the story is incomplete without them. I read a lot and I really enjoy the complexity of the lyrics of power metal so in many ocasions the music helps me come up with ideas, or plots. I totally get what you mean. As I said before, I wrote most of this fic the day my dog died (can you guess what day was it?) and it was some sort of catharsis. At that time, I only thought of the loss I had experienced and the future seemed grim and clouded. Yet, like in (with?)many more times before, I found solace in the music I heard, and I decided to finish the story like I feel it works out in life. (I don't know if I made myself clear... sometimes I want to express many more things but my vocabulary fails me XD) Anyway thanks for the feedback it means a lot to me when an author I admire replies to something I wrote.
Author's Response: I wrote where my mind took me... It is no coincidence that I said it was in honor of my dog... I wrote the first half of the story the day he died. Thanks for the review. |
