I am sure Snape picked Slytherin for keeping a close watch on Harry, but he was also a master occlumens and he and Harry both share parsaltongue... he might just be the only one who would give Harry a chance a Slytherin was known for being so suspicious.

This is very intriguing. I don't think Ginny is lying - why would she? The memory in Harry's mind indicates that *something* must have happened. I can't help wondering if Voldemort is behind it somehow...
I'm enjoying this story very much, and I find Harry's teenage voice to be very realistic. "Huge yelling fest" made me smile.

Great start! Everything seems to happen to Harry, doesn't it? I liked your description of Dudley's bullying and Harry's intervention; it was very much in character for both of them.
