Despite a lack of time, I simply had to read this fic. And I'm glad I did, with the exception of it not being complete so I can't automatically read what happens next! :P I had to admit, I was rather sceptical at first, namely in regards to Sam. But now I love it. Sam seems cool, and I like (for some unknown reason) that he's in Ravenclaw. I would have reviewed each chapter if I had the time, so sorry about that.
I think you're doing a really good job in developing this story, and I'm really enjoying it. I'm glad Severus and Harry went back to Joanna and Sam, because I like the four of them as a family, even if they're still not exactly that (not yet, but one day I hope). I am a bit curious about a few things, such as how Joanna and Severus met, and how long they've been together. Also, How old was Sam when his father died? If Jason moved out a few years ago but came to them when he was 14, then Sam would have been relatively young, right? Oh, and does Jo (or Sam) know about Lily? Or any of the history with Harry and Severus in regards to hating James and such? I assume Sam would have mentioned Harry and Severus at some point over his time at Hogwarts. Which also ties to me wondering how long Sev has been with Jo and all that.
It's nice (and realistic, in my opinion) that while Harry struggles to talk to the adults, he can talk more easily to Sam. I would like to see Sam and Harry as brothers, perhaps more than anything else, as they fit so well together. I think it would be a really nice if Sam was the one Harry opened up to and who helped him, and then he could be the one to convince Harry to talk to Severus and Jo (or one of them at first, if Harry is not comfortable telling both for whatever reason). I honestly don't think I can see Harry telling them without the urging of another (hense, Sam), or at least not at this point.
I really, really like what you've done with the story so far, so I will be following it and reviewing when I can. Keep up the good work and I hope you'll update again soon. Oh, and I love the banner! :D
Author's Response: Thanks for the long and in-depth review watercrystals, I'm glad you're enjoying it. At this point I'm going to say that Severus and Jo have been together dating for about a year and a half, and Sam has known about it since they got engaged last Christmas and obviously when Severus moved in with them over the Eeaster break as was mentioned before. Sam was younger when his father died, maybe 9? I haven't set an exact age for that. Joanna doesn't know about Lily, and you will have to wait (hehehe) to see if she ever finds out, but remember Harry's already told Sam that his dad and Severus had it out for each other in an earlier chapter. At this point the story will be going in a different dircetion than Sam convincng Harry to talk to their 'parents' but don't worry, he and Harry will still become brothers of sorts. Harry's angst and uncertainty about getting thrown out will continue until the very last chapter of the story, though they may subside briefly in the telling. Thanks again for the review!
Harry never feels he's got things right does he. At least Jo and Severus have brought things out into the open, and offered to listen if Harry wants. They can't force him to talk, so thats really the best they can do at present. Carry on just the way you are with this - its not all doom and gloom, but has a healthy proportion of angst; I like the variation.
I really liked this chapter. It's realistic that Harry would be worried about spending all his money with no means of adding to the balance, and he's nowhere near to feeling secure at his new lodgings, so would be easily affected by Malfoy's well chosen words.

I really love your story! thank you for the quick chapters, it's awesome!! I would have loved more time alone for SNape and Harry, but I'm sure we'll have plenty of that later, it's awesome as it is! Just: more ;-) keep the good work!

Hmm, actually I REALLY liked this chapter. I've been loving this story all along. Admittedly, though, I thought the last chapter was a little too happy. This brings things back into balance. Cause these kinds of feelings don't go away with just one or even a few episodes togetherness. It's going to take some serious time and work because time without work heals NOTHING.
I also like that you show Joanna realizing that she made a huge mistake. I thought her telling Harry to leave so abruptly was quite cruel and thoughtless of her. Nice to see the natural payback happen. Because if it didn't it wouldn't be real.
Can't wait to read your next chapter.
I think that Severus and Jo should have had a talk with Harry right away so that he would know what to expect. He had been rejected and needs to know that he is a member of the family now, like Sam, and won't be sent away again.
awww! Poor Harry! I will say, that even though the chapter ended sadly, that you definitely have Harry's feelings where anyone in his position would probably have.
