Love this story. People are behaving more rationally than in canon... Of course McGonagall would take Harry to the headmaster for permission, rather than to Wood. Of course parental approval would be needed.
Couple of typo/homonym errors in these chapters: site is a location, sight is a view; supper is a meal, super means great. Callus is the physical thing (thickening of the skin) callous means unfeeling. There were a few others like that in these chapters: not many, but they bumped me from the storyline each time.
The story is so good I kept reading, once I got myself back into it. Glad I did! Can't wait to read more!
Great chapter, this! I do like all the minute differences you are making while still retaining many of the events of canon. And naturally, I do love the last bit of this chapter with the reveal and all - it was just beautiful, perfect, and gave me such warm, happy feels.

Oooh, I do like the touch of the cupboard having absorbed a bit of Harry's magic from him being in there so often and for so long. Very nice touch, indeed.
Love Harry and Ron's confusion and thinking they must have been talking to some other teacher because Snape wasn't being evil to them. :P The interactions with Snape and his colleagues has been gratifying to read also.
I've been tracking this tale for a while but had not gotten around to starting in on it until now. Upon seeing that it had recently been updated, I felt it was an opportune time to start following it more actively. Can't say that I'm disappointed. Quite the contrary, I do like how you have begun this story. I look forward to seeing what is to follow. Nicely done!
