Great chapter! It would have been better for all involved if Hermione hadn't bothered trying to lie. I wonder....would she have lost points too if she hadn't? :D
This is the first chance I have had to read your story and I am enjoying it. Will their detention be a basic lesson in potion ingredients and why they do what they do? Something that seems the Muggle born/raised don't know about.

Great story! I like your retelling of events. I chuckled several times as I read -- you have a gift for humor too.
Gormless. What a wonderful word and perfect to describe Crabbe and Goyle. I enjoyed Harry and Ron's discussion about dueling, especially the comment that the worst curse he could get from Malfoy was zits. Guess Ron was wrong - they got caught and got detention for a week. Snape's reaction was interesting. He seemed more gentle than usual.
