Dark and interesting story. You have a penchant for thought-provoking last lines.

thats so sad they shouldn't have done that to him. well done though I hate that he had no other way out.
A very different story. Short and I reread it several times. Part of the problem is that he was a spy for so long, that no one had any idea who he really was. Hard to balance Harry's need to connect with his parents and Severus need to his private memories.

What a sad story. And very beliefable, which makes it even sadder. Thank you.
it may not be apprepriate to laugh but...LOL good for you Severus. They had no right to tell him what to do. If he wanted to quit then he had every right to do so. Its a sad way to go but now he is free.
Wow thank you. So just out of curiosity, how in your mind do Minerva and Harry react? Do they try to do something foolish like use a time turner? Do they accept it? Feel guilty? Resentful? Something else?
Author's Response: I think Severus's death would show them what they did wrong. His life was his own finally, after getting out of the service of two masters, and now they were telling him exactly what to do with no concern for his opinion, just like Voldemort. I hadn't thought about the time turner, but that is an interesting possibility. If they've finally learned their lesson, that is. They would probably feel sad, because they were trying to do what they thought was best for Severus, but they also would probably feel guilty, as they hadn't really asked Severus what he wanted to do, they just ordered him around.
Oh my goodness, this was really sad! Poor Snape, at least he found peace in death.
