The idea was brilliant, but I must admit, I am horribly miffed. If this was supposed to follow the books, you've horribly over shot. Sorry, it's the whole Ginny thing (bloody fan girl that she is needs to go away) then Harry's grades and also Luna didnt meet him till book five and Neville didnt really hang out with the trio (yes I've said it, those three kinda stayed to themselves for most of the books). It just doesn't seem up to your usual standards. I'm sorry about the negativity, but I just couldn't give this a good review.
Author's Response: It's fancition. I always take liberties with things, including sometimes changing the sequence of events. Granted I did make a mistake with the type of Dragon Harry fought, and the ammount of prize money, but those were unintentional. In this story Harry needed to be dating Ginny and being friends with a lot of people so that the Dursleys could see how wrong they were and be baffled at Harry's popularity and success. If you didn't like it, then you didn't like it and that's fine, but I don't see the start of this story as a mistake or horribly overshot.
Very fun kick-off chapter, for sure! :-)

Nice chapter :)
I like how Dudley acts around Harry in this story although I am anxious about the stunt Vernon is sure to pull off... he is way too polite.
