I have been reading your story from the beginning but this is the first time I have reviewed. I know you wanted a slow build up to the relationships between Harry, Snape and Ian in this fic. I can't say I didn't like your story in the beginning because of that slow build up but it did take me awhile to warm up to the characters. Now you have me hooked.
Snape has an almost impossible task to win over Harry's trust, regard and even love. He can put the blame mostly on his own shoulders with his stubbornness. Now that he is trying to make his and Harry's relationship right he will have to use all his natural Slytherin cunning. I like the idea of Harry's grounding as punishment. This will force Harry to be a part of his father's life but Snape will have to go into super Dad mode to give Harry the life lessons he gave to Ian in just 9 weekends. (Or at least have Harry believing that he us a part of a family who loves and cares about him.).
That being said, I would like to see Harry's punishment reduced by 1 weekend for the fighting offense. Snape told Harry he should only fight if he had no way of avoiding the fight. Snape's adult thoughts were that Harry could have walked away but in Harry's experience walking away really wasn't an option even if the fight was partially because he was mad at Snape. I think that if over the next 8 weekends, Snape can get Harry to feel like it is no longer "Harry against the World" then Harry can have better judgement about conflicts and the lesion has been learned. After 8 weekends of time Snape could then afford to show his affection for his son without appearing weak or inconsistent in his parenting role.

I think you did get the situation across very well thank you. I Like the fact that there is still angst between them, it would be unreal for a calm acceptance and it makes a better story!

OH, I just knew that Ian had locked Harry down there, the little brat.
Now maybe Snape will finally see that his impressions of Harry are wrong.

Poor Harry. It doesn't end, does it?
I'm loving this story, despite Snape being an ass. lol but then again, that is the true Canon Snape, so you are doing a perfect job keeping him in character.
