Ian's dislike of Harry, and fear that his father will like, and want Harry instead of him is so very well written. Great nine-year-old perspective. I do feel very bad for Harry throughout all of this, but you've captured Ian's insecurities quite well.
I feel so bad for Harry at the end. The ambiguity as to how Harry came to look like Ian is nicely written, and offers two very plausible possibilities for the similarities.
Excellent opening chapter. It's very intriguing. I like how you introduce Ian, and how Snape tries to dissuade his son from getting to know Harry Potter. I'm hooked.
