Reviews For Forgiveness
Author's Response: Haha yes Thing 1 and Thing 2 are doing their best! It's only been a few hours and Black has to figure out who knows where Dumbledore is.
Thanks for the review.
I like how uncomfortable Snape is when it comes to taking care of another person. In most stories he automatically switches into the mother of the year, suddenly caring like he has done it forever. I imagine Snape having not much social skills being treaten like an outsider most of his life. So for me your Snape is a pretty realistic one. I like that a lot!! The only thing that irritated me was him using Harry's first name this early. I thought it kinda strange... But just then, I'm probably too pedantic ;) Another thing that was really cool was how the trio tried to protect Snape from being fired. The loyalty of Gryffindors :D I liked that scene! Aand the latest scene! First I was a bit irritated when you let Harry awake and then retell the whole "Harry is blackened out" thing in Snapes perspective. Because some authors tend to overdo that, retelling every scene just to be sure that the reader gets not only Snapes, but also Harrys thoughts in every situation, everything served on a silver platter. Personally, most of the time, I don't like that, because firstly it is repetition which can be boring, secondly I like it much better when, say the story is told from Harrys perspective, the reader gets Snapes emotions by his reactions only (which you did just great, especially when Harry woke up, by the way!). So I was a bit irritated at first. But it turned out to be a very clever move from you! Because if you had been told the story in chronological order, the reader would've known Snapes thougts right away. It was much better this way, letting the reader be as much informed as Harry was when he woke up. Just guessing, what's in Snapes mind and maybe finding out later what it really was. Like I already wrote, I like that way muuuch better ;D So, in short: I like this story a lot and absolutely want to read more!! ;) Author's Response: Wow what a lengthy review thank you so much! Yes I think Snape has trouble connecting with everybody not just Harry. Once the dislike fades there will still be awkwardness. Good thing Harry is a pretty good people person. It's funny I actually debated the name thing. I decided he would use it because he was trying to wake Harry up or see if Harry was actually waking up after a head injury. I think he would call Harry what he was mostly likely to recognize and respond to (which is Harry). In daily interactions Harry is still "Potter" to Snape though. I'm glad you liked the flashing back. I agree it can get over-used. Thanks again for your review I am so glad you are liking the story!
LOL Umbridge doesn't know how to do any subject at school. I want to see her O.W.L and N.E.W.T scores. I bet she didn't pass anything with an O maybe even and E. Severus was very concerned and has turned fatherly and hates it. But, he will like it soon enough I have a feeling :) Author's Response: Haha yeah she is not too bright is she! And yes poor Snape has all these new feelings he doesn't know how to deal with!
Author's Response: Thank you for the review. I'm glad you are enjoying seeing Snape's opinion change. I am enjpying writing it. I like the family stuff too but it'll be a while for these two if it happens ;). And I think Sirius has his moments. Poor guy was jailed for 13 years, he is bound to be a little broken too! I will update as soon as I can. Glad that you are looking forward to it!
