Reviews For The Summer We Went Mental
Author's Response: Howdy! You are most welcome for the chapter, and thank you for taking the time to let me know what you thought. Great to hear that you loved the method by which Snape realized Harry's abuse. I enjoyed writing that part. I look forward to sharing what happens next as well!
Author's Response: Nice to hear from you again, crotia. Thanks for the enthusiasm!
Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing, Lili! Wonderful to hear you liked Severus' thoughts.
Author's Response: Thanks, BlueWater5! Glad to hear that you enjoyed the descriptions! Cheers.
Author's Response: Thank you so much for the long and detailed review! These are the reviews I value most, because they are full of valuable feedback and help me grow as a writer. I am very glad that you enjoy my style. It's been an interesting experiment in writing. Most of all, it is very good to hear you feel that my portrayal of mental illness in TSWWM is fairly realistic. I hate when fanfictions butcher mental illness. It probably has something to do with the fact that I have family involved in mental health, and have known many with mental illnesses of some sort, as well as experienced some difficulties on that front myself. It's a topic people really need education on. So thank you for your comments! I very much appreciate the feedback and kind words. Cheers!
Great story! Author's Response: Oh my goodness, Kyoko ... I totally didn't clue into the fact that Daisy and Lily both have flower names! Like, duh ... Haha, I need to get more sleep. It's great to hear you are enjoying Daisy's character. It's always tough making people like an OC, so it means a lot when people say they enjoy them. Thanks for the review!
Author's Response: Great to hear you liked it Kyoko!
Author's Response: Great to hear from you rosina! Always good to hear your thoughts on the story.
Author's Response: Hey Abie! Oh, I am so glad you feel that I did the concept justice - I have been lucky not to have suffered from an eating disorder, but have had very close friends who have. It's such a multi-faceted issue, and isn't just a fear of getting "fat"! So I am glad that you felt that portion was fairy accurate/respectful. Thanks so much for your feedback, Abie. It's always helpful to hear from people who have personal experience on the matter. Cheers!
And I love Daisy - she's just so sweet and her story is so sad. It's terrible that anyone has to go through that. The only qualm I have, to be honest, is if they get in a romantic relationship. I think it's because I have trouble liking OCs in general, and even less so if they are shipped with a canon character because they tend to take up all the spotlight if you aren't careful. I mean, if you want to do it go for the ship, I guess. I'm not going to argue. Just putting my opinion out there. :) Author's Response: Hey Artizay! Thanks for your opinion on OCs. Yes, the only purpose they seem to serve, at least on this site, is to fall in love, haha. Personally, I think most people really don't give a darn about OCs, so I try not to do nothing but tell the OC's story. So hopefully you don't have to worry about that. I'm glad you are enjoying the story, and Severus' characterization. |
