Reviews For Visions of Sugarplums Danced in Their Heads
It happens at least once with every child the run away act. Oh course I don't remember doing it myself but i'm sure there is a fascinating story to found. :P Author's Response: Haha to be fair, they did want a big family! It just gets overwhelming at times. I definitel pulled the runaway act myself haha.
Author's Response: Thanks for your review! I had a snicker writing James wringing his hands in the closet while Harry played happily, so I'm glad you liked it!
I'm afraid I can't keep it to short, though. I was truly captivated the whole way through. There are many things I loved about this story, but much of that stems from how believable you made the characters and their interactions. I felt like I could picture each and every one of the kids and was particularly impressed by how you wrote James. This goes without saying, but to depict James and Severus as friends in a way which feels so natural and real takes some real skill, and you certainly accomplished it. So often people cast James as an evil ass because it's easier and demands less imagination from the writer, but what you did brought a truly lovely and tangible strength to James Potter as a character, as well as to the very real relationship he had here with Severus. I also adored the ending. Without being overstated, you pulled everything together, ending on a very hopeful note. Bravo. I, for one, would love an epilogue ;D Thanks so much for this! Author's Response: Thank you so much! A lovely review I admittedly read like 5 times haha. I'm glad you liked James and Sev, that was my favourite part of the story.
Author's Response: Don't worry! It was very strong!
Author's Response: Thanks for your review!
I'd love to see an epilogue! One with Pauline and Michael as well as Sirius and Harry. It will be interesting to see what happens with Voldemort. If Severus already knows where the Horcruxes are, Dumbledore can get rid of them, but what about the one in Harry? In the dream world, there wouldn't be one in Harry. That would be nice, to stop the war before it has a chance to start again. One thing that confused me. Sirius seems to be very out of character with Severus. Even knowing that Severus was the reason he was out of Azkaban, I'd imagine he wouldn't treat Severus so kindly. Especially telling Severus that he can be a part of the family. Author's Response: Hey! Good thinking with the Horcruxes! Sirius is such an interesting character, I find I always gets such devisive reactions whenever I write him. People tend to love or hate him it seems. I think that Sirius is an imcredibly loyal person, and I think that when he gives that friendshp and loyalty to someone he follows through completely. In my opinion, in this story he heard when Severus tried to do for the Potters, that he got Sirius out of jail, that he saved Harry from the Ghangzou and saw some pensieved memories from the Ghangzou world. I think this made Sirius decide that Severus was a good person and he pulled a complete 180. To put it in less confusing terms, I think Sirius is someone who can 100% hate someone when he hates them, but upon learning new information about them can 100% love them. One he decides someone is worth his loyalty, like a dog he gives it forever. Anyways thats just my opinion on his character! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for your review!!! |
