The way Harry responded rings true to me. This was well written.

Hmph, that ending though... ;) lol jk, s'long as you write more I will not be angry. As for how long it took for Harry to break and say something I don't think there was a problem with that. As for Nott, thats an interesting development, you said he wouldn't have much air time, but if you reconsidered I think it would make an interesting twist to the story.

Children who are abused do reach the end of their ropes, and, when someone comes along who is persistent and consistent in their lives, someone they can trust, they do tell. They also make it out like it's no big deal. So, for me, at least, I think this is very believable, and I like the pace at which this story is going.

I'm enjoying this story very much-- I especially like the realistic dialogue. As for realism, I don't think there are any rules for when someone is ready to talk about abuse. In the context of how dire the situation is and how he is currently removed from the world of his abusers, it seems right that Harry is taking a chance to get help. Anyway, it depends on if it is right for this story for this event to happen now-- it doesn't have to take ten chapters if the author's point is to focus on recovery.

Thank you. I think his reactions are very realistic the wanting to tell but the fear. I have experience in this area and I'm afraid abused children blame themselves for the abuse as they have been taught. It takes a skilled counselor to get them to talk and your Severus obviously is one.

It's not unrealistic. When people are abuse physically or sexually they flinch shy away and don't make eye contact with people. As for conditioning that's spot on. They think it's for the best and don't want to tell cause they think they'll be hurt more or that those they tell will be hurt. Sometimes the later of the two is more incentive to keep quite then anything else due to love and loyalty. He'd be more likely to tell Snape more then someone he loves

I was a bit surprised that Harry gave in so quickly, too, but, as you said, he is scared, injured and deep down wants someone to know. The addition of an abused Nott was interesting and I look forward to finding out what part he will play.
