Deaf Snape? That's a novel idea, but with the explanations it didn't stretch the imagination too far, especially as you seem to be using lots of real information. Good start.

Another great chapter!
I love Harry's conflict; how he feel he doesn't fit in with the deaf or the hearing.

Awesome story premise!!! I love that Snape is deaf - it fits so well yet was so unexpected! How awesome to work it in - his quiet voice, being able to tell what whispering people are saying, demanding people to look at him while speaking - all great things that support this premise! Fantastic start! I love that Snape is deaf teaching Harry how to manage being hard of hearing, and now they are going to summer camp. How fun! Great start to the story!

Snape deaf? Interesting I for one wouldn't have come up with that
Author's Response: haha, yeah it was kind of an errant thought, and then it just stuck and wouldn't leave me alone. This whole story was kind of like that, yet I've found myself already planning out a potential sequel... :-D We'll just have to see how far it takes me!

That's an idea I haven't seen yet. The only vaguely similar fic I can recall was on AO3 but died up, and in it Snape couldn't speak due to Nagini's bite.
Anyway, I will be following this one intently, as I am hard-of-hearing too (100 dB).

You'll have to let me know if I mess something up then - I am generally relatively knowledgeable about hearing loss and related, but as I have pretty average hearing myself, it can be a bit hard to translate book knowledge and secondhand knowledge into a story.
