Wow, Snape really was a healer in more ways than one for Harry. No wonder why Harry is so drawn towards the man, after being helped so much for so long. Poor Hermione. I hope that her mother can be healed some way. I love how Snape is pushing Harry to learn and do better than he was doing before. It's great to see Harry respond to that.

I continue to enjoy this story very much. I most appreciate the pace of your story. You are really allowing time for the characters to experience ups and downs without rushing through either their trauma or their recovery, and I am so intrigued by the many details. I also enjoy the letters between Snape and Harry; it reminds me of classic literature with the exchange of correspondence, but you are also very good at capturing their voices in a more formal exchange than speech. I also really enjoy the dynamic between Ron and Hermione and Harry, with the bits of Ginny that are added here and there. Harry continues to mediate between them but now has his own outside support, but you've maintained the quiet sort of way that Harry always interacted with Ginny in the books, with so much of their inner thoughts on each other kept silent for the moment. Harry is insightful in his own way (I liked his explanation to Professor Cork which was very mature, as well as his reading of Burgess) but at heart he's a problem solver, so it's interesting that, without a problem between him and Ginny, there's no real momentum to their relationship.

Thanks for the update, always fab!

    Author's Response:

Thanks for taking time to review! Interesting observation about Harry's and Ginny's relationship. In the films, Ginny is a very quiet character, whereas, to me, she appears livlier and stronger in the books. That is what I try to work with in this story (although she is a side character), to make her a temperamental person, with a strong appetite for life.

I agree that this is a longish story and I'm glad you don't mind that, because most probably it stems from my being an unexperienced writer. But that's the thing about fanfiction, isn't it? You are really allowed to wallow in your fantasies about your favourite characters. You write it as much for your own amusement as for your readers.

Another great chapter! I commend you for tackling head on the issues these kids would suffer from in the aftermath of war.

I'm happy Harry found a way to communicate with Snape, since he's been forced to work with the Git, that doesn't include personal insults and humiliation that face-to-face encounters always seem to devolve to.

Author's Response: Thanks! The letters were tolerably decent, I think, even if Snape's impatient character shone through.
