Argh surely there's a reason for Snape doing that with his acromantula paper?! Things have been going sooo well for them lol :)

Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing! You've probably read chapter 18 by now and seen the explanation that Mr Weasley provided about the publication. There will, however, be a scene between S and H where the acromantula paper is discussed as well, a few chapters ahead, if you have the patience to wait, because S is not very approachable at the moment...
Title: Chapter 18 A task for Mrs Weasley 25 Apr 2015 1:38 pm

Lots of rich detail in this. Harry's observations about the disadvantages of growing up Muggle were well-articulated and certainly ring true, even his saying that it might just be his feeling behind rather than it being a true social disadvantage. But I love how that reflected on the scene at the club with Ginny. Ginny is comfortable with so many aspects of the wizarding world that Harry isn't-- including Harry's fame as the Boy Who Lived. Harry had to overcome not just a disapproving Muggle family but also complete ignorance of his own history, whereas sometimes it's very hard to forget that Ginny knew who he was before he did, and was already 'in love' with him when they met. Ginny's self-confidence contrasted with Harry's quiet nature makes for very interesting reading.

I also loved the naturalism of Harry's playtime with Teddy. It was very sweetly portrayed but fed well into how you've characterised everyone. Harry is just love and acceptance, things he never had as a child, and I liked how he explained himself so thoroughly to Teddy when Teddy was hiding, even though the child presumably doesn't have language skills. It goes back to the way we know Harry was raised-- only ever shouted at or punished, no kind touch, no soft voices. You say a lot with a small scene. And Harry's care for the Weasleys is just so lovely. He's not quite one of them in the same way they're all so alike and happy, but he loves them all so much and wants to make things better for them. I love that he thinks of them individually and has some kind of relationship with each of them. His reaching out to Hermione and Mrs Weasley was really very lovely. Your Harry is compassionate and bright and growing into a thoughtful young man.

    Wonderful story as always!

    Author's Response:

Thank you! It warms my heart to see that you perceive Harry just the way I want to portray him.

With Teddy, it is so like Harry to know, simply by instinct, how to talk to and to treat even a very small child (without language, you're right there - Teddy can be a year - a year and a half at most) with respect, as a real person.

    Thanks again for the review!

Wow! that was intense! Snape tried to Obliviate Harry? Seems a bit dangerous, and WRONG. I'm so glad that Harry was able to protect himself, but I reckon it will put some distance in their relationship. Too bad. It seemed like they had made a lot of progress. Great chapter.

Harry is so wise, but that is so in character with how he is in the books. He observes, and notices things others don't. And he has a heart and a soul to stand up for things.

I loved the students being able to relax with butterbeer. The plant was genius. It seems that Snape will be strict and is letting the students know that. That is wise - he has so many students of age, so it is good that he is reminding them of the rules, and putting his foot down to some behavior. They can always leave if they want to. It was kind of sad to see some students stand up and take offense at Snape. Good that the Gryffindors support him though.

I loved your portrayal of Neville and Luna. I hope Luna gets better. Great chapter. Great development of this story. Very imaginative with the elderberries and the Planta sensitiva. Funny that Hermione got kicked out! Thanks for all the updates!

Author's Response: Neville and Luna are minor characters in this story, but there will be more about them later on.

Wow, what a terrible class for Hermione and her friends. :( Distressing. I love the joke SNape made at the end. Ron really needs help. i hope he gets it.

Woah! Awesome chapter! The memories, and the climatic ending between Snape and Harry was just delectable. So much drama! It makes sense why Harry is so good at these new types of spells, based on inheriting his ability from his mom, and practicing them of a sort as a baby. Wow. Fantastic imagination with that scene! Great descriptions! I love this story!

I am so glad that Harry is willing to support Snape. Snape needs it, and I hope that Harry will do it despite respecting Snape's pride about unrequitedly loving a woman who died. Too bad Harry and Ron can't do quidditch! The spells done by the homeless wizards was creepy! I don't quite understand how they showed up in the castle.

Author's Response: It was the Vanishing potion that brought the homeless wizards inside the castle (mentioned also in chapeter 3). How does it work? It's magic, I guess :-) Maybe it was a little far-fetched - sometimes you need to twist things a little and just hope that it will make sense...

Wow, Snape really was a healer in more ways than one for Harry. No wonder why Harry is so drawn towards the man, after being helped so much for so long. Poor Hermione. I hope that her mother can be healed some way. I love how Snape is pushing Harry to learn and do better than he was doing before. It's great to see Harry respond to that.

WOW, I love all this Grief Swallowing business. Fantastic theory and development of this concept in the story! I love learning about it, it is so fascinating.
