In this case, it would almost be allowed for Dumbledore to not say 'other student', but 'Harry'. Especially since he's really more of a 'raised by the village' child instead of having a single set of parents. (Though, I'm happy that that's not so much a solid fact anymore. Severus is doing very well (if reluctantly) at stepping up to the plate.)
