This story makes my heart hurt. Slavery is such an ugly thing. I know myself enough to know that I would do anything in my power to kill myself rather that live a life of humiliation and pain and despair.

If I had to choose, I'd probably ask that ron be entrusted with "leashing" me at night. But then again, Ron can't wake up on his own in the morning, so Harry would probably "earn" punishments for being late as well.

sigh...I don't actually know if I can continue with the story. There is no sign of hope, just endless torment. Especially since Snape admitted that he likes to see Harry humiliated, just not broken. Being broken would take away the fun of humiliation after all. Bastard. Only thing left would be the pleasure of beating harry.

    yeah, my heart hurts

Author's Response: Well, you don't have to continue reading, and that's fine.  Thanks for the respectful review.  Notice, though, that despite Snape saying that, he's gone out of his way to help Harry.  That line was more a reference to his earlier behavior.  Snape was so upset at having to raise his hand against Harry that he got drunk.  He definitely doesn't get anything out of it.  Thanks for the review!

So I know it can be annoying to be bugged all the time for an update, but its just cause I really enjoy this story and am so eager to see where its going. One thing I'm curious about, or would like to see is Harry trying to rebel or go against the bond. You haven't really shown harry trying to test it to see if its really real, he's just kinda taking snapes word for it. I know it was what was making him sick, but I do think he submitted to the collar and brand a little too quickly, or without really testing the waters. I'd just like to see Harry try to assert his free will a little bit more and see what consequences happen.

    I'm so happy you updated.
The chapter is great. Some points of their discussions are definitely trigerring for me.
I really hope, that Harry doesn't have any experiences with "other favours" he has been insinuating... That the abuse wasn't so horrid.

Looking forward to next chapters :)

    Author's Response:

I'm still a bit undecided about Harry's experience.  I figured I'd let the story unfold however seemed natural.  If anything, I suspect it would only involved Dudley, maybe some of his gang.  Nothing known by Mr. or Mrs. Dursley.

And hey, if you ever need someone to talk to, because it's triggering or whatever, you can always feel free to send me a PM via fanfiction under the same user name.  Thanks for reviewing!

Poor Harry, and Snape as well. Slavery is a bond between both master and slave, and, as such, both of them are stuck with each other for life. I hope that things will start to look up for both of them, and that Snape will address some of the issues that have been brought up, circumspectly, since he's removed Harry from his relatives.

    Looking forward to reading more.

Author's Response: Well, Snape already realizes he'll have a hard time telling Harry that his relatives were wrong to beat him when he's going to have to turn around and beat Harry himself.  Anyway, they'll get some issues straightened out eventually.

So good! I'm loving this story! Oh, please update soon... I know real life is always in the way but I hope by telling you how much I loved this chapter and how I am dying for the next bit, it will give you warm fuzzies and encourage and motivate you to write the next chapter (or chapters!) quickly. But thats just me being annoying. But I loved this chapter! Please update soon!

Author's Response: I love warm and fuzzies, thank you!  ^_^

Gosh, that's so sad. This chapter practically bleeds hopelessness and that's a compliment to your writing.

I have some questions again though and hope I am not a bother. Harry can't have a snack in between without approval, let's say an apple or piece of chocolat? What about drinking water on a hot day?
What if Snapes dozes off during the the day and Harry is not leashed; does that force a beating? Can Snape decide to magically prevent Harry from attacking him and thus forgo the leash? Can he decide to punish in other ways than corporal?
Will they at one point in the story work through the whys and hows they came to hate each other?

    Author's Response:

No, questions are good!  You're not a bother.  :)

You're right, Harry can't have a snack without approval.  I suppose that would extend to water as well, though I hadn't given it much thought.  If there is any time that Snape is sleeping when Harry is not restrained, the bond will have a fit, yes.  Snape could forgo the leash, say, if he put Harry in a body binding spell; is that better than a leash though?  Harry can at least move a little bit on the leash.  Snape doesn't know if non-corporal punishment will work.  There's a reason for that.

Definitely, they'll work through a lot of things. It won't always be bleak and hopeless, though it will be that way for awhile.

Nice chapter! The bond is really very cruel, but I like the way Harry and Snape are dealing with it. When will Snape tell Harry about his own experience with the slave bond?

Author's Response: If everyone cooperates - *glares at Harry and Severus* - next chapter.
