This is one of my all-time favorite stories, and I’ve re-read it countless times. I love this opening chapter. It feels realistic and paints an excellent picture of Harry’s current plight. I’ve always wondered why Harry was never given an emergency portkey or immediate way to contact the wizarding world, in the event of an emergency. Thanks for the amazing chapter.

Poor Harry. It's awful to be powerless, with people who can take you away against your will. Even so, Harry is still his usual generous self, looking out for Dudley, even if he does it at least in part hoping that his cousin will reciprocate. Action-packed first chapter.
