The explanation of the wards was excellent, and made so much sense. It was agonizing though to envision Harry having to think of the Dursleys’ as home, given his treatment there. I’m desperately hoping for a more upbeat last chapter!
Author's Response: Wards can be notoriously fickle... But as long as they haven't fallen completely, Harry will have a strategy to keep them in place. And tho' #4 Privet Drive can feel like hell on earth, in Harry's case, better the frying pan than the fire! Thanks for reading and reviewing! 😊

Nevertheless, another good chapter. I do think Snape's advice in making the house his home is sound, even if I am not pleased about the necessity thereof.

Trust Snape to catch Harry out by arriving early. Good advice to Harry on looking at the house as his home, and more chance of a successful result than relying on the other occupants.
Author's Response: Nearly all of the stories I've read have the issue of the wards close to failing because Harry hates his relatives and doesn't really consider #4 to be his home in the way that Hogwarts is. I decided to try a new approach, to get Harry himself to strengthen the blood wards through a change in focus. Snape's advice is unusual, but he means it sincerely. Thanks for reviewing!

Snort. Pee on Marge's leg. Snape must have enjoyed that thought. I liked the description of the wards. It makes sense that the house has to feel like a home for the wards to work properly. Won't be easy for Harry though.
Author's Response: I couldn't resist! Marge would totally deserve it if Snape ... er ... lifted his leg, as it were. And yes, I was looking for a slightly new angle regarding the blood wards. They may be attached to Petunia by Harry's mother's blood, but 4 Privet Drive is supposed to be his home, whether the Dursleys want him there or not. As long as Harry focuses on the house, instead of the people, it will continue to work for him.
