I liked the brief interaction between Harry and Snape at the end of this one. Very nicely done.

Author's Response: Thanks.. Wasn't planned... I did it mostly because Snape needed to show up for the story to be accepted for this site.. Turned out that I actually liked it, having him show up like that.

You know, it is really a wonder that Harry managed to remain as sweet as he did after ten years under the Dursleys' dubious "care."

Finally, something is looking up in Harry's life. Looking forward to future snapshots.

Author's Response: Yes it is, but that's what I love about Harry. He is strong, much stronger than most give him credit for. It's what I always try to point out in my stories. :)

I can only imagine how horrible it must have been for poor Harry, to have had such a delightful escape from his unhappy life only to have it taken from him by his cousin's spitefulness. How very miserable indeed. Poor Harry.

Author's Response: Well, it wasn't like it was unexpected. Harry will adapt. Instead of calling him poor though, you should call him strong. I hate it when people give a pitty party for the boy. He's not fragile or broken. Instead of pitying him we should concentrate on the fact that he survives it all without any real damage. Not that I'm saying his childhood isn't sad, it is, but he'll come out of it stronger.

Poor little Harry. :( How anyone could be so mean to an innocent little child is beyond me. Even if you don't care for children, it just isn't done! Poor little tyke. Poor baby.

Author's Response: Yeah, it is kind of sad... But to call him poor Harry is incorrect. He's a strong child, he doesn't need pity :o

I would love to be able to exercise regularly but we are still fixing up our new house. I work anywhere from 1-5 days a week and when I'm not at work I'm usually cleaning house or outside pulling weeds.

Author's Response: aah well, can't have everything we want.

Just stumbled across this and I love your premise of following the summers. I think your snape is believable and am loving his slow turnaround to seeing harry for what he is not who he believed.Sirius was predictable hot headed and immersed in the past, I'm glad snape made harry talk about it. Looking foward to the next chapter!

Author's Response: Thank you. Premise was a challenge but still... It's always nice to hear my characters are believable :)

Harry is bound to be looking forward to going to his new school. Anything that gets him away from the Dursleys has to be better for him.

    Author's Response: That's probably true..

I like the way you are including little details in each snap. The comment about Harry being the first beater to use his head as a bat made me chuckle. It is sad to realize all the changes little Harry went through.

Author's Response: Thank you. :D and I know, first few chapters are sad.. But then, Harry's childhood was sad, so I couldn't really make the summers all happy, happy, joy, joy..

I keep telling myself I heed to exercise more but I never have the time to do it all of the time.

Author's Response: Everybody says that, it's rarely true. Nothing to be ashamed of though, exercising regularly is annoying :P

Very interesting the view point you give of Sirius and Severus. Whereas Sirius is happy looking back at the past Severus deals with the future for Harry. Thank you a great chapter but I prefer Harry with his glasses!

Author's Response: Sirius isn't happy looking back.. It's simply that it's the only thing he has left that can still make him smile. He needs more time to heal before he can start looking forward again. Snape one the other hand, refuses to look back. There are to many mistakes and to much hardship for him to look back. So, he focuses on the future. A future which is doesn't expect to stay in for long. As someone who has been wearing glasses for as long as she can remember, I have to tell you that it really doesn't matter what you prefer. Sorry, that might sound harsh but fact is, nobody who needs to wear glasses all the time would choose to do so. It doesn't matter whether they are in at the moment or whether others like you better with glasses, all that matters is that you have no choice. Harry lives in a magical world where they can regrow bones in a single night, and manufacture magical eyes that can see through the back of your own head.. There is no reason for him to be forced to wear those infernal glasses. That said, I do think I understand what you mean though. The glasses are a part of Harry, it would be weird for him not to need them any longer. Anyway, Thanks for the review :D I'm glad you liked it.
