Loved it. I wonder though if Harry will manage puberty alright though. What an interesting concept. Of course if Harry were a girl Snape would think of her as Lily's daughter. Great characterizations in this one. Interesting that Harry would be in Slytherin. What a terrible mess Petinia set up here though. Would Harry feel she is a girl if Pegtunia raised her as such? Great one shot.
Author's Response: That is certainly one of Severus' concerns, I feel. This Harry certainly has other issues, already, what with the lying and fighting with peers. Of course, there is a possibility that Harry is a transgender boy, in which case, I feel that there is something that can be done to ease puberty for him, in much the way is done for trans children here in the muggle world. However, the main problem is that, this Harry may in fact be a child that was raised under an imposed gender who is reluctant to let go of that for whatever reason. What is most important, however, is that Harry's current gender identification is respected, not the least because he has never been allowed much in the way of self-determination before. He may, as he becomes more settled and a bit better adjusted, determine that he is a girl, after all.
It's certainly something I would like to explore further, whether as an extension to this brief oneshot or a series of short tales, I'm not entirely decided, as both would have their merits. In any case, I feel I have started to ramble. Thanks for the thoughtful feedback!
