Reviews For A World Of Grey Clouds
I am very exited to see what her name turns out to be. Spot on on the Evans part. I think that definitely was the best choice. As far as her first name, I would love to have Snape choose it. Maybe he had some insight from when he and Lily were friends? Or how about leaving it just Harry? You are doing a great job on their relationship and the emotions that go along with that. I think Snape was justified in how he disciplined Harry. He was not overly harsh and I think that a child that had grown up in a loving home would see and understand that. What made Snape sad, I believe, was the fact that she was accusing him of something far different and did not understand the meaning. I think she needs to know that there was a limit her behavior and that was it. Working through all that after the fact I think will be essential for their relationship, but I feel that the cp and Snape reaching his limits was well in character for him. I'm starting to like James less and less. I understand that he might have been desperate but even on desperation people can choose how they react.....and don't get me started on Dumbledore..he's as manipulative as ever. I quite enjoyed the Minerva and Snape alliance and I hope you keep it intact. Thanks so much for sharing your time and story.
Pfft, Cinnamon. Well... it goes with the plant theme and it's unique! Actually... looking it up. False Cinnamon is called Cassia. That's... actually a really pretty name. And plant/potions/latin themed to boot! Depending on the context, the name can either mean 'Champion' or 'Empty/vain'. Gah... Ok, I'm just really getting into the naming game now. Then again, most every name in the HP series has some two/three/more layers of depth. Except Harry... JK just likes the name. (Even Padfoot. Did you know that's an alternative name for the Grim?)
Wow, James really is terrible, isn't he? Personally, I love James Potter, but this is making me want to punt him across a mountain range or something. I wish Snape would stop being such an ass and try to see that Harry needs him. I can't wait to see the name!! Excellent chapter, as always! Author's Response: Well, normally James is kept beyong reproach and it is either Lily or Dumbledore glamouring Harry in these kinds of stories. I wanted to try something different, so I made James darker. ^_^
Scurvy Grass Flitterbloom Evans... I approve. Haha, but jokes aside, I kind of hope that Sev will suggest a name. I mean, Harry already expressed her discomfort about naming herself and wondering what her mother would have named her. Maybe Sev even knows what Lily would have chosen for her daughter's name? The surname was never really a question, since Harry resents both "Potter" and "Dursley". So that only leaves "Evans". She can't (and honestly wouldn't want to) have the name "Snape" but maybe "Prince" would have been an option. The scene where Sev picked up some orange peels from Harry's hair was cute.
