Well, of course she doesn't have any opinions! You all but growl at her if she so much as opens her mouth! And these 'rules', she has no clue what's actually expected of her, and she has no desire to deal with just a different style of venom that she's had to deal with all her life. Staying in her room's good. It's safe. Even if that's an illusion. Conversation is not a one-way street.
Please let her stay in Gryffindor. If I was Harry I'd snap my wand in the great hall at the welcoming feast and say Gryffindor or she leaves the wizarding world and refuse to do anything about Voldemort. If I was her I'd would never give in to anything they say. That or threaten suicide.
Have to say you're doing a nice job with this. I usually find female Harry stories unreadable, but 20 or so chapters down and I still think this is good.

Oh, I was so happy to see this chapter. I think I was going through withdrawal or something since we have been spoiled with so many quick updates. Great job, and I am excited for the next one. I hope you keep up the tension and feeling. I love it. I could see some interesting situations coming up when they go shopping. I am sure Snape has certain expectations to her dress code.
