Oh how I hate Dumbledore! Thank you a wonderful chapter but how will Harry feel when no one comes back? She will lose trust in them!
I really hope Harry doesn't forgive Dumbledore for this, because that is just twisted

Thank you an excellent chapter! I loathe Dumbledore for the way he used Harry and didn't look after him so he would be a hero so I agreed with Minerva and Severus!

Ah, can I just punch Dumbledore? I usually give him the benefit of the doubt, but he is being quite selfish and manipulative in the name of the "greater cause". He reminds me of one of those people that will always twist things around to benefit themselves and has no regard for anyone else's feeling...and so cold to the fact that she will still be severely emotionally neglected at the Dursley's. Snape is her father for goodness sake and should be the one that makes the decisions. Especially now that he acknowledges her (that was very sweet). I halfway expect him to make an offer that he will stay at the Dursley's with her. Just add Marge too and it will be a party!
I loved how you had Minerva and Snape conspiring to get her out of Dumbledore's clutches, and getting her in to slytherin might be way of accomplishing that. I sure hope Dumbledore's eyes are opened to what he is doing to both Harry and Snape and not just worried about loosing his weapon and spy.
Lovely story, great job on the chapter! You manage to create tense moments, powerful feelings and then something funny at the end with Harry being flung over his shoulder.
Love it! Their conversations about green are especially adorable.

Again a sad chapter but also quite agitating. I don't doubt that Dumbledore thinks he acts for the good of everyone, still he is so frustrating to deal with. It wouldn't be so bad if he was the one making sacrifices, but instead he is sacrificing Harry (and also Severus and others) for his scheme of "greater good".
Severus calling Harry his daughter and saying that he will take her with him was heartwearming. I hope Harry will come to realize that Severus actually cares for her (even though Severus himself has a hard time admitting it). I also hope that Petunia treats her better now and that she is not left completely unobserved for the remainder of summer.
What happens now? I don't like Dumbledore saying he will find a way to work around Harry's decision to embrace her actuall identity. Will he force the glamours back on her? Will she be sorted in Slytherin under a completely new identity?
Maybe Petunia could just legally disown Harry and relinquish all guardianship over her, therefore nullifying any obligations. Or Severus could find a way to defame the name of James Potter, revealing his part in concealing the truth, making the wizarding world to be disgusted by his actions so everyone would be relieved to learn that Harry is in fact not the spawn of James... well, that's most likely not going to happen but one can dream, no?^^

Something about the way Dumbledore knowing about Harrys situation and still insisting on her staying there makes his character so much more dark... I know there the argument of the greater good, but really, to not only sit back and watch but insist nothing changes is evil

A RESORTING? Christ, what is this kid, a chess piece? I love Slytherin Harry, but I feel like that's a terrible decision. She WANTED to be in Gryffindor, and the Hat put her there. If they're so worried about keeping her identity a secret, wouldn't letting her be a girl AND in Slytherin solve the problem? What the hell, Dumbledore? UGH
I really can't wait for daughter/daddy feels. AGH.
Author's Response: Severus may be playing Dumbledore's game but in reality what he hopes to achieve is getting closer to her.
